A/C issues

Hi All,

Finally get a warm day in Yorkshire this year and the A/C has decided to stop working.

No fault codes on the Vag Com, no forced ECON light.

Revs change a little when turning on and off the ECON but none of the usual jet engine noise from the engine.

I am thinking the G65 is the first thing to swap out. Anyone know what the normal G65 values are in the Vagcom measuring blocks?

R

If the compressor is running, and it sounds like it is, you should be getting cooling. Maybe your gas has leaked out.

Do you know where the low pressure gas inlet is Shop? I still have an AC recharge bottle in the garage with a pressure gauge.

I think it's by the strut mounts in front of the windscreen. Might be a pic in my Bilstein installation DIY.

Don't recharge it with a bottle though. Asking for trouble.

I will ship it off to Grizz for him to look at it! Vagcom says 8.0bar, but that could be a duff sensor.

Could just need re-gassing. Kwick fit do it for around £50.

Hmm. Be very careful about who re-gasses and how. Most of the retail places like Halfrauds that do it for £05 use single use bottles. These are disastrous for your AC system.

You need someone with the proper kit to empty the system, create a vacuum, boil off the moisture and recharge with the right lubricant. The bottles are the chrome spray in Mad Max Furry Road (sh1t film, btw).

I can vouch for Kwik Fit, I thought they'd destroy the car but they were actually very good... at regassing.

We're no longer on talking terms. It's a car chase movie, pure and simple.

You sure you're not looking through Aus tinted spectacles? It made me think my TV was broken. Frame rate was all over the place. I did like the Cirque du Soleil pole vaulters though.

There's a reason for the frame rates. Look it up, philistine.

/EDIT Hmmm this appears to be aggressive, it isn't, well no more than I normally am.
