Yup except that if you develop an air leak in the SAI system you won't know. Better to remove the combiners and put blanking plates on before mapping out.

I still have the noise! SAI has been deleted but I noticed it had come back once the weather was warmer. It's definitely somewhere around the steering wheel. I did wonder whether it was the door speaker but I don't think it is. It's definitely one of those weird buzzing noises like a mechanical thingy that's stuck.

I now realise I've had this noise 5 years. It disappears then just comes back and I have no clue as to why or what it is!

Could be a faulty relay. Can you get a microphone and put it behind the dash in different places to see where the buzzing is strongest?

Dodgy relay noise is a definite possibility. It's not causing any warning lights though so that would limit what relay could be misbehaving.

I'll have to dig out an external mic as it's not easy to wave a mobile phone around now.

Squeaks and rattles sends me nuts.
Seat belt mech on leather
Glovebox door handle (not door)
Drivers window.
Dashboard on windscreen.
Instrument cluster on plastic trim above steering wheel
Months of playing to find the noise then two mins to fix.
Soooooooo annoying.

Mine's not bad. There's a creak in the driver's door that's just started and that's about it I think, apart from the infernal buzzing obviously!

It's definitely not tinnitus. This noise has been around off and on for several years. It's more noticeable in the summer which is when I drive the car more.

If you think it’s behind the instrument cluster. 10 min job to undo two screws and pull the cluster forward.
Test drive.
You will notice if that’s the area of the noise.

Light switch is a 2 min job to remove
Remove and test drive.

Just a matter of trials to narrow it down
As I said squeaks and rattles sends me nuts. And ruins a perfectly good drive.
Hope you locate it and get it sorted.

I don’t know. She was on her own. Had to stock up on batteries though the next day.
I thought they were for the tv remote control.
