this isn't the first time its happened.
I was on empty and no v power local so I put some 98 in but only £25( wot with it not being the highest octane or cheapest fuel).
drove home and parked up
gauge reading almost top of the red. got in this morning and it was reading empty again. wtf
I know these like to drink a lot of fuel but this has got me thinking I'm leaking fuel/or the gauge has died.

I think they're all a bit iffy when you get down below a third of a tank. Mine intermittently says it's empty in the morning and then usually will come back up on the drive to work. If it doesn't I fill up just to be safe. (Although last time I put 83.5L in

oops)

Does your fuel gauge indicate full when the tank has been filled? The reason i ask is when i bought mine it always settled slightly below the full tank indication, using
VCDS i re-calibrated the gauge to indicate full when the tank was full, this in turn gives better accuracy when reading low levels, it doesn't seem to suddenly indicate empty when been left over night with less than a 1/4 tank showing.

Mine does this , I'll park it in the garage with a quarter of a tank , come back to it a week later and empty lol

This is actually a normal occurrence and it's down to the split fuel tank on the c5. There is a pump that pumps the fuel from side to side and two senders that work the fuel level out from both sides.
So it divvies the fuel out between both sides and such a small amount won't float both senders.

Good to know, I can get back to the other problems that need sorting.

Does the computer readout have the same problem?
