Photoshop request for new guy!

Post by LEELEE81 » Fri Aug 14, 2015 10:20 pm

Hi!

I've just joined got my C5 a few days ago, while driving it home I noticed one of the wheels has a buckle. I've got a set of 4 front Mclaren SLR turbine wheels and with a 10mm spacer they should bolt straight on but not sure they suite the C5.

Could any of you kind gentleman photoshop them onto my car please? they are 19 x 9j so will sit exactly the same

Sorry for my first post being a request but being a automotive painter hopefully I can help out with paint related issues on here in the future :biggrin2:

If you've already got the wheels why not just stand them (on some wood if needed to get the height) in front of the standard wheels and take a photo!

Indeed I could and probably will as the car is away having cam belts and the wheels are at a friends paint Shop I'll not be able to do that for a while yet! I'm just being impatient  it's not quite the same either to be honest!

Was worth an ask

They don't look as bad as I thought they would:

Still not my cup of tea, though.

Think they look better in a titanium grey colour:

Feck me, you're one swift sprayer. No sooner suggested than done.

That's pretty much exactly the colour I had in mind.

Presumably you'll be binning the tyres, though.

I had them on my Vito van for a while so them tyres won't be going anywhere near the car! they picked up a few marks so I'm in the process of repainting them just in the grey without the painted pin and so on.

Thanks again for the photoshop I think I might just put them on and make my mind up that way. I'm still 50\50 at the mo

Are they genuine SLR wheels? Got to be rarer than chicken root canal, especially considering they're two sets of fronts.

Nice FON, Ben.

Fugly is the word that comes to mind here !

Id keep the tyres though , if they've been on a white van they MUST be Formula 1rated

They are ET45 so a 10mm spacer would be needed to get standard offset. They are also left and right sided.

Yeah you could say there's not many sets floating about and not supprised they cost a complete fortune. I was at Mclaren for pretty much the whole SLR project.

Everyone has an opinion on what looks well and what doesn't,each to their own I say.

I think those wheels looked surprisingly good too.

Palladium Grey, is very nice also.

FON.

What do you guys think of these (not my car...saw them on a car for sale here in Sweden)...? Bit too much?

I don't dislike them. I normally hate split-rims, but those are more discreet than most.

Yup, they're definitely growing on me.

Stick those photos in the RS6 photo thread.

I think they'd look good without the hardware in chrome, looks too busy, decent looking wheel.
