Stupid ski hatch

Post by Nobby » Tue Apr 07, 2015 2:40 pm

Is there actually a proper method to fold it up and put back behind the little latche(s) without resorting to swearing and violence?

I used mine the other day (no not for Skis, but long ish bits of wood) and its almost impossible to get closed now from either side. Each time you get it closed it springs open after a few days.

Nope, you will always resort to swearing and violence. I've used the hatch for long bits of dead prostitute wood too and I had to sit there and recreate all of the folds that I could make out left on the material. I bet Audi have an origami master chained up somewhere in Neckarsulm.

From the manual

'Do not under any circumstance open the rear seat 'load thru' centre section aperture. It is not designed for general use and under no circumstances will you get it to pack away correctly.
You can swear and cuss as much as you like, it wont make a blind bit of difference. In the event you fail to abide by this warning, we are able to supply new seat parts at all of our retail outlets.'

Very funny thread. I used mine back in 2010 some time and I have only just managed to tuck it back in. Looking promising now though.

LOL , and you'll go over a small pebble in the road and it will open up again just like a Ships inflatable life raft :kissmyrings:

Can't you just take the silly ski bag off and use it like, oh I don't know, say a ski hatch like in every other car that has the hatch but no silly bag. What were Audi thinking when they put that in?

I've never ever seen one on any other car so why did Audi have to be different?

I think the idea is to save getting water or blood all over the interior.
