Looking for a C5 6/6+

Ive got a new facelift S6 on order, but part of me is thinking of cancelling and instead chucking a bit of cash at a C5 RS6. I'm not wanting big bills if things go wrong so I wondered if they were available at dealers which would have a warranty (that I could potentially negotiatie an extension on in the deal to cover myself on gearbox or DRC failure). This is at Stafford Audi who've prob taken it in as a p/x and deemed it worthy to retail...

A quick Google finds these pics on Autogespot in 2013 with it sporting C6 alloys and a + badge (that's missing now) so it looks like it might have been in the hands of an enthusiast...
So before ringing the dealer who will prob not know much about the car's history I was wondering if anybody here knew the car and/or if it had been modded etc?
Thanks in advance

Kevin

That was my first thought, which I also assumed is a good thing? Then I read that there was an option of 'Sports suspension plus' on the plus, which lowered the car 10mm over standard plus spec?

How much? The would have given £10k for it
As said its on coils
If I were paying £20k for a plus I'd want working DRC !

Indeed, even if you take into consideration the costs to get it into a retailable condition (warranty, tyres, pads, discs, service etc etc) it certainly is strong money. I think £15-16k is probably nearer the mark from a dealer and I'd rather pay a bit more and get peace of mind from a dealer than buy privatly and have the unknown cost around the corner e.g gearbox.
A car without DRC probably appeals to me more as its one less thing to go wrong, that is unless they put a brand new DRC system on all round.
Anyway, I've made the call and he's going to dig out all the history they have for me , so Ill update this thread with what the dealer tells me.

I don't get it
Why pay a premium for a warranty then be glad the sublime DRC has been replaced by an aftermarket coil over.
You may as we'll save £5k in a slush fund and buy a Stage II normal C5 (also with coils )

Agreed - or increase the fund by approx 6k and buy a C6 RS6 like GDavison and Chris has just pxed.

I think you misunderstand me. If the warranty is only 12mths then I'd prefer non DRC, that is unless it's been recently completely replaced.
Beside-the-by, I certainly won't be paying the asking price of £20k, regardless of the condition etc. I'll walk away if they won't budge. My budget is £10-15k for a warrantied one, and £8-11k for a non warrantied one that needs a gearbox/DRC fund.
In an ideal world I'll find a good one at a great price, obviously.

You can renew the warranty which is what you would want to do with a chocolate gearbox
I very much doubt they will drop 25%

Is that a little "+" that's been added after the "RS6" badge on the tailgate?

For £20k they could at least put the front badge in the right place.
