Newbie Reporting

:redrs4: Hey All,

I've been a long time lurker on these awesome forums but now I have had the time and resolve to make my first post. First, let me bore with a little "about me":

I was born in Colombia, moved to Europe on my own when I became 17, lived in Bournemouth (Doooorset) for about 3.5 years and then moved to Switzerland where I've been living ever since. When I came to Switzerland (2003-4) I had the pleasure of seeing a C5 RS6 at an auto dealer next door to where I worked. I was blown away by the sound and its presence; since then, I knew I would have to own one.

Fast forward to 3 years ago and I had the opportunity to test drive one that was being flogged off for cheap. Needless to say I was not disappointed by the concept and finally driving it!!!, though I was left heart-broken by the state in which the car had been kept. I simply could not fathom how someone could be such a monumental tosser towards the car, which after a simple 10 mile run, was leaking oil from the block (one of the many problems).

Anyway, I continued to look for an additional 2 years where I visited and tested about 11 of them, each time falling more and more in love with the car. However, each car had that little something which made me pull away (shady owner, crap service history, excessively weeping block, etc...) I almost pulled the trigger on one with 100k miles but negotiations fell through as the dealer would not negotiate anything in terms of the timing belt (needed doing in 5k miles).

About a month after that and more or less 11 months ago, my luck changed and I found a guy privately selling his 2005 RS6 Plus. In fact it was a friend of mine who found the advert since my filter was excluding that price range by about 1000 francs (+-£400). We were blown away by the level of detail he put in the advert, I mean it showed that this was exactly the type of person one should be buying a car from and thus after meeting, negotiating and befriending him, I am now a proud owner of a beautiful mint RS6 Plus #154 8) :greyrs4:

Here she is the day I picked her up (some of the pics are crap and show artefacts that aren't there):

This is she in winter shoes:

The BBS Wheels it came with had to go 1) I wasn't a huge fan 2) It's a limited edition car and I believe (my opinion) it should be kept stock. So I found her original shoes :)

I could not believe the state in which the car had been kept. The owner was extremely fastidious about every single detail on the car and of course I could not have been more pleased. She was sold to me with:

All 4 new brakes (pads+discs)
Timing belt and waterpump replaced
DRC in perfect condition
Just MOTed(swiss equivalent)
VAG Scanned at stealers with 0 errors on TC, Chocolate Box, Engine.
90something thousand miles on the clock
Arm rest repaired with OEM part (lid was broken)
Full tank :)
Brand new winter tires with OEM wheels (in the pics)

Well guys and girls that's my baby. I took it last week to Germany where I belted it to its top speed, which it achieved without breaking a sweat :notworthy:

I hope I have many years of happiness with it and yes....I started the slushbox fund for it already (we all know it will come one day or another :ban: )

Cheers to you all!! :beerchug:

Welcome
Car does look great - I am a huge fan of the black optics on any colour, but it does look really good on silver. The standard wheels also make a big difference to the look of the car.

Enjoy

Thank you kindly. The speed was 280kmh / ~175mph on the dash. GPS indicated 264 kmh / 165ish mph? :kissmyrings:

Hehehehe I'm afraid that'd be the equivalent to saying "I had enough RS6 in my life, I think I'll stop driving altogether..." :ban:

Funny enough, the first one I test drove (still pains me) was being sold as the <beep> who owned it, got clocked doing 230 something on the national A1 :knob:
