Excellent another ayrshire RS6er!

I was looking at options for replacing my saggy H&R's and recommisioning the drc is probably the ideal solution.
Man I thought I was the only Rs6er in Ayrshire...10 a penny these cars :yellowrs4:

Brilliant job - I remember when this was first posted!

I had always intended to modify the design so that the two system pressure gauges were permanently mounted in the battery well on the car. It would then be really simple to check whether either part of the system needed re-pressuring.

However I never got round to it - mainly because the system never let me down!! :boots:

Good luck with the build! :beerchug:

Foot note to an extensive thread, As these cars get older and the DRC becomes more troublesome , the After market KONI system from CRS becomes more and more viable as a cost effective very efficient alternative . Performance and comfort improved and no need to replace anti roll bars , We have helped dozens of RS4 owners now with absolute success , the RS6 inquiries are starting to pop up now and we have stock ready to go . Pre adjusted to suit the application and driving style . under £700.00 incl vat and delivery

Think you'll find most C5 guys have ditched the DRC in favour of aftermarket stuff, which is now starting to fail sooner than the factory DRC did. Swings and roundabouts really.

Mine lost the DRC at approx 70k miles. They were replaced with H&R coilovers, which dropped the ride height and made it look somewhat more purposeful, but rode like a bag of bolts.

By 110k and 4 years later the H&R's were saggy as hell and were rubbing the arch liners. There was also evidence of the coils binding up. Aftermarket stuff looks great but it just doesn't have the build quality or the protection needed for UK roads.

Changed to KONIs at 113k and now upto 138k with no drop in performance. Very little in the way of adjustability but then, is it needed?

I have a box with 4 brand new DRC shocks in. One day I may recommission the system, but for practical reasons at the moment I will stick with the simpler system.
