Audio upgrade.....

Morning peoples....anyone on doing there audio upgrade...new speakers...blah blah blah.....just have front speaker set up with bass from boot,but no speakers in rear doors....speaking to a guy yesterday...ears facing forward....speakers in rear,just confuse the sound ?????????????????....got to go back and listen to his car...seemed to make sense.... Waffy.. :blackrs4:

All the SQ competition cars have only got speakers in the front, maybe a sub in the back, but the trend now is to place a much smaller sub up front normally under the glovebox or replacing the glovebox. Obviously the big boomers and burpers still have the back of the car filled with subs but that's a different kettle of fish altogether.
The reason for no rear speakers is that the soundstage should be in front of you and having speakers behind you will obvoisly make this harder to achieve. The sound should appear to be coming from as far forward and as central as possible.
A few people put some speakers in the rear for rear fill for the rear passengers but switch these off for any serious listening or when competing.
