Hi Guys

After a long time of wanting one, I am finally going to purchase a C5 RS6 next Spring. I have wanted one since they first came out, and can't wait.

This forum has been an excellent resource, and I think I am well versed in the issues around the gearbox and DRC etc

However, one question I am not sure of is how does the car respond to a remap from a reliability perspective? Are they considered to be a complete no-no because of the impact on the gearbox?

I probably wouldn't do any other mods to the car, bar a Miltek if the car I buy doesn't have one, but the remaps seem to realise good gains.

I realise that a separate map for the gearbox is also advisable, but I have only seen MRC offering them.

Have the MRC stage 1+ (engine and gearbox) and it has been brilliant with no reliability issues. The car is serviced by MRC and they did a gearbox oil change a couple of years ago and is well worth doing.

Would also recommend Hotckis ARBs and the Milltek and the PSS9s have also been worth the money. However, would say installing a Kenwood satnav/ipod/bluetooth has been a revelation and every time I get in the car I question why I am contemplating selling.

I have a viper remap on mine the best IMHO and yes gearbox remap was done too

As you can see lots of different options I have MTM stage 2 and gear box map,straight through Miltek and DRC also changed gear box oil. Now 2 years on still going well
