Guys,

Following on from previous post with regards to A4 Audi. I had heard really good things about them up until lately. I initially took my car there for an assessment and MOT and surprise surprise the garage came back with an encyclopedia of faults, advisories etc etc. Received a call from Andy (owner) A4 Audi to be told that my car was a dog and he wouldn't be spending any money on it. When I took the time to pop over he had faults as follows for MOT and as he called bringing the Dog up to scratch

1 new tyre required
Wheel alignment
Faulty N75 - causing boost issues
2 front drop links
4 CV boots
|Front Discs + Pads
Rear Discs + Pads
Window Regulator
Oil Cooler
Oil Cooler Pipework
Cam box Bank 1 + 2 Gaskets @ Gearbox Leaking needing replaced
Misfire on Cylinder 3- possible Coil pack
Rear Brake Calipers Seizing (intermittent)
MOT Test

Now the garage said my bill would be in excess of £4000 + Vat, and the car wasn't worth it (in Andy's honest opinion) now everyone appreciates honesty..... well here's the thing....

I done the drop links, tyres, N75 valve, Window regulator, front and rear discs and pads, changed coil packs, and Torque converter getting done on Monday...now no requirement for new caliper, no CV boots damaged, no oil cooler or pipework needed, so what I trying to say in a long winded way is please please please take your car to get a second opinion prior to going with A4 Audi as they simply are shambolic and try to fleece you for parts that are NOT required. In the process of carrying outr my assessment they lost my tax disc, and undertray which was nice of them.... so please Scottish 6 drivers, be afraid....be very afraid of this garage..

Gripper do not take your car here Mate.......unless of course you want a huge bill, and parts missing from your car.....

In one word guys.......ARSEHOLES!!!!!!!!

That does seem odd, losing your tax disc. Have they given a reason why they moved it?

I'll keep in mind your experiences with A4Audi for sure. I sometimes get the feeling certain garages see an RS6 and use it as a way of milking as much money from the owner as possible. Maybe taking advantage of the owners wish to have everything absolutely perfect.

Myself, well the car isn't perfect. Hell it's an RS6 they are never perfect, but if they pulled a list like that up for mine I'd walk.

Can you give more detail about the coolers and lines, what did they say was the problem? And how have you found them after a 2nd opinion?

Have you gone back to A4Audi for any explanation?

No idea what so ever as to why my tax disc walked off into the sunset, the undertray is really annoying me, but I'm that pissed off with them that I will purchase another undertray. My oil cooler and pipework was sweating, now sweating I mean 3 droplets, so right now, after all the other money put into her over the past week, my oil cooler lasting another few months won't bother me to much.

Gripper there is a guy up here in Glasgow mate that I would recommend for your timing/cam belt service replacements, Willie Connelly @ Audi teknik was good with mine also reasonably priced.
