Yeap, R32GTR's have shot up in price nearly 50% over the past 1-2 years because of the same US thing.

So what new rules are these?
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)

The Americans aren't allowed to import a lot of stuff because it was reducing sales of new cars in thier country. But they are allowed to import cars over 25 years old.

We're pretty lucky with our import rules.

And I don't think there's any rules on imported cars for emissions/safety etc so they can get 700hp+ R32GTR's from Japan with no issues which is driving the export prices up. Audi's will be the same in a few years (anything post 1990).

Bottom of 4th is too long and it lays down - 5th is stupid long. The car really needed a 6 speed spread, the ZF 6HP26A was available then but it was probably a package too big for the C5.
Interesting that you're modifying the log manis, those things are timebombs. Even getting a set of tubular 4-1 welded up in log-style would be better, ne?

These were done for a B5 recently.

I think I had just went into fourth when he reeled me in

Pretty sure they are my mate Stuart Cross' manifolds. I'm going to get into mine next week hopefully

Yeah, mine always laid down in fourth. It's just a really fucken long gear. You change into it at 80+ and it'll take you to 155.

Wow, holy thread revival... cool story bro etc etc

To be honest, im not into slammed look as i was when younger and didnt think a big boat like the RS would suit it, but this car is stunning... also not a fan of the Bentleys etc but good to see some different things done

What a legendary thread, great read, anybody know if the car is still going? What its like now?

It's almost like RS Audis and the state of the offshore industry are inextricably linked :thumb:

Hi all. The long lay up was more to do with being flat out at work, too many other projects(vehicular and property)and the addition of our wee boy(16 months old now). Made an effort to get it out my unit for my mates wedding last September which involved a mild makeover with bilstein b16s and D3 final editions. It also gave me the nudge I needed to get my finger out and get the ceramics I had bought fitted. First I bought a twin caliper rear set up to suit then investigated adaptors to work with my parts. That turned into another riot after a bad experience with a german brake specialist. Many months after payment I finally received the adaptors and would trial fit everything. This at least went well and the calipers are now away for refurbishment.

More updates will probably be slow. We've another baby on the way and a house purchase incoming.
