Re: RS 51X CS,daytona avant
What gear were you in while he was reeling you in?
Bottom of 4th is too long and it lays down - 5th is stupid long. The car really needed a 6 speed spread, the ZF 6HP26A was available then but it was probably a package too big for the C5.
Interesting that you're modifying the log manis, those things are timebombs. Even getting a set of tubular 4-1 welded up in log-style would be better, ne?
These were done for a B5 recently.

Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

I didn't know you had a B5 as well as the two C5's... Rule 1!!bam_bam wrote:What gear were you in while he was reeling you in?

I don't. That photo is from a build thread on SRS. I do like the B5 though, a lot, perfect time to buy IMO. The US of A will be able to import them soon enough and that will launch the price sky-high. RS2 will be available to import next year (I think), the prices are going mental.
No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: RS 51X CS,daytona avant
Oops, sorry, misread 'a B5' for 'my B5'. I would love a B5, nice cars. Good point on the US import thing.

Yeah, that'd be pretty sweet.
I thought I wouldn't be able to drive a manual again but found this recently, looks good (and expensive):

Re: RS 51X CS,daytona avant
That is very cool. I forgot you run handcontrols.
Get a 997 PDK turbo, they're quicker. Either way, they'll probably not come much further down in price and they'll be silly money before you know it. Look at the 996!

Re: RS 51X CS,daytona avant
Surely the US market isn't interested in RHD though? Plenty of LHD of all of those models floating around. Well, maybe not the RS2, they've been getting silly money for ages.

Re: RS 51X CS,daytona avant
They're motors of interest and will probably be mothballed anyways, documentation is in English too.
Dunno why but it's starting to happen.
