performance pub talk

Just as a matter of pretentious light hearted pub talk :-)

What do you reckon the performance figures would be on a RS6 C5 with 600bhp / 800Nm with a manual box compared to Auto if any ?

0-60 , 0-100 , 1/4 mile , standing mile etc..

I have read auto boxes lose around 33% to wheel power & Manual lose 20% .. How would this 13 % increase affect times ?

When it isn't in the garage having work done then I would say around 3.6ish to 60. Shame the loud one who owns (not sure if it is sold yet) the other manual doesn't come on anymore, he might have been able to answer this question. Think he said it was something like 2.1 seconds to 100 in his
You looking to buy the silver avant then that MRC did?
I think bam is running close to that in Darth  and his 0-60 is around 3.8, I THINK anyway.

Hey Chunk,

The one I just bought is the one you referred to, the MTM black saloon .. 2.1 secs :-) haha

Picked it up other day and over the moon with it , flawless condition inside & out , runs 100% spot on.

I Had a good chat with Kim @ QST & the previous owner ( Dunk5y ) whom bought it from QST and everything sounded fab.

Its only being used as a family everyday car so wont ever be pushed to the limits ( I also have to much mechanical sympathy anyways ! ), just morbid curiosity regards performance figures..

Thanks for reply, would be great to pop down sometime if there is a meet ? hope no-one minds the dense questions haha

Cheers

Robbo

So you are aware of the history of it? Sorry to say it but after LittleRod's rants on here it sounded like a bit of a well-beaten dog. NEEDS MORE NOS YO!

Hey footlong !

The nos was only for cooling the intercoolers,it didn't work particularly well & was more of a gimmick so Kim told me he removed them ..

its in immaculate condition with FSH , only 48k miles, over 35k of mods & 15k of servicing over past few years..runs 100% spot on,a well beaten dog it certainly isnt lol , I dont think QST would turn out rubbish mate...

Its a wee bit of shame such a nice car looked after by QST at no expense spared gets called a 'dog' from yourself who hasn't even seen it.. or maybe you have & I am delusional haha :-) , unless your judging the car on the person I'm not sure.

Fully aware of the history of the car but at the end of the day it is what it is,really can't fault it in my humble opinion !!

Anyways.. hope to become a regular on here and maybe pick some brains if I need some help !

BTW footlong.. Brutus looks like an awesome motor !!, I preffered the avant shape but wasn't a decent modified one for sale when I got this saloon..has it been rolling roaded ? I got in touch with a local audi tuner up here ( star performance ) and they stay clear of rolling roading an auto rs6 ? ( confused )

Hi.

I didn't say that QST would turn out rubbish at all, I am more concerned about how the now RIP owner appeared to rag the arse off her from what I read from various internet trawls. Also, with what QST charge I would be pretty bloody annoyed if they did turn out rubbish. I considered using them at first as they are quite close to me but the website prices at least are just not competitive when compared to the competition.

MRC sure as sh!t know their beans and if they didn't feel she was ok tuning everything in on the Dyno then they would have done live mapping/tweaking. Power results are in my sig.

Glad you are happy, manual RS6 is not my cup of tea at all but as least you won't have an auto box exploding on you any time soon ;)

If you has the car mate, you tell us the answers
Glad you are happy with the car and glad the old owner has left here. Where abouts are you? Would be good if we could try and arrange a big meet at some point.

Agreed as LittleRod seemed like a total tool IMO on the forums at least, so far, you seem alright chap :)

haha cheers mate

Thats what confused me about them ( STAR ) not rolling roading an rs6 , they seemingly have one of the fastest rs4's in the country..( common claim I know ) that would obviously need live mapping.. i dunno ,still confused , easy done though :-).

As with the car getting ragged , I suppose anyone tuning & throwing money at an already extremely fast motor has one thing in mind !! go faster :-) , unlike myself who cant afford to tune these , I just sit at the bottom of the pile reaping the financial rewards , yip... unless it goes bang ! hence my mechanical sympathy.

Just seen the sig bhp of brutus..( not to computer literate here ) , thats a big difference in hp / torque .. , 826Nm is mental !

The MTM route as advertised is (568bhp), 560ps but 'only' 770Nm , you would think power & torque would increase exponentially in conjunction with each other..but I ain't nerdy enough to understand..interesting reading though .

Cheers !!

I am not one of the highest slushbox torque runners that I am aware of, well, I may be on standard box internals but a number of us run higher torque than that on them. Bam and Daveperc are two off the top of my head, Bam is on a custom TC if memory serves and Daveperc is on a customized 517 Trans box.

Amanda1 is/was/is/was/is/was? running a stupid amount of torque on her box though and despite beating several shades of <beep> out of the box, never managed to totally kill it. I have lost the plot on whether she has her custom slushbox yet and if it has been fitted or not.

Personally, I will take torque over HP every time. MRC reined my torque in at 826 as pretty well anything above that and she slipped.

Has it been proven with dyno sheets? Think Amar drove her :sekret: but didnt notice it had that much torque/hp...

No idea and not something to get our nerdy knickers in a twist over. It can be an urban legend on here for all I care ;)
