New front brakes.

I know what you're thinking. Front brakes again. Been reading up elsewhere on here about bedding in new brakes and pads and it would seem that after initial warm up, about 10 hard braking runs from 80ish mph to 20ish mph with half a min or so in between is the way to go. This is my first set of fronts and I want to get it right, so does anyone have any different methods? Any brake experts out there?
Don't know if it matters but fitting OEM drilled discs and pads. (Will be removing dust guards as I did on the rears).
Cheers.

With all my cars in the past all i ever did was go steady for the first 200 miles or so round towns.
It depends how quick you want them to be good i suppose though

This is my method which has always worked well for me:

1. Drive car around and get the pads warm with gentle braking.
2. Do a big stop from 60ish to about 5mph - don't brake so hard that the abs comes on but almost. Do it in the dry. Don't stop dead.
3. Repeat 2 10 times with no pause between runs. Don't continue if your brakes start to smoke excessively. (if you are using cheap pads, you won't be able to do 10 stops - have a fire extinguisher handy ;) )
4. Drive around in a way that your brakes can cool down. Brake as little and as gently as possible.

Job done.

Thanks Shop. I am using OEM discs (perforated) but still undecided about pads. I fitted OEM discs and pads on the rear so thinking same for front. How much quicker do the discs wear out with Ferodo 2500s?

Dunno, but the DS2500 aren't cheap for the RS6. I would stick with OEM.

Used to be good deals to be had on these from various sellers but Audi have pulled a sneaky trick and chopped the discount down that dealers get,you will be lucky to get £100 off now.
