Hi guys, i'm still battling with the warranty company who want a confirmed report of the failure but want me to pay for it first.
The problem i have is that i spoke to a so called gearbox specialist and described the problems to him, revs going high and slipping like in a manual car and then
clunking into gear.
He said he has been opening boxes for 23 years and he knows its very unlikely that it is the Torque converter. He said the box is low on oil pressure, goes into limo mode
and that the forward clutch has gone. He started babbling onto some technical jargon then said i was being told <beep> like the rest of us are. I told him that many people have had torque converter failures with my symptoms but he seemed adamant that a car that would rev high and clunk into gear was not due to a torque converter.
Can anyone help please.
Thanks

Get a
Vagcom scan done on the gearbox module, it will tell you loads of information. As I think has been said previously you're unlikely to get any warranty company to pay out on these gearboxes, other than an Audi warranty that it. You have two choices at the moment, 1. ask the warranty company for a goodwill payment. 2. pay for the work yourself and get the car sorted. Grizz is now doing replacements for 3.5k all in.

Slippers? Pipe? Are we on the Jaguar forum?
Madi, look back at bam's posts about how he battered the warranty company into submission. You might decide that it will be less painful to just chuck 3.5 grand grizz's way...

Yes, that's what you'll be saying to the seller when you buy one...

Who is this so called specialist?
He could be right about the forward clutch pack being shafted.

Also check your toes, Chunk. They are supposed to be separate, not webbed.
