Cya later C5, Hello C6. Read all about it.

I'm posting a link to a write up I did after collecting my new V10 RS 6, as it is in the C6 forum, some of you may not have seen it, plus I've now updated and added to the thread. As you will all know, I owned a C5 RS 6 plus for the last 14,000 miles, so naturally, I will be comparing the C5 with the newer C6 version, and I'm sure someone on here asked me to do that anyway. If you can't be bothered to read the review. Just take this in board. Moving from the C5 to the C6, was the best decision I made, and I urge every C5 owner to try one as you're missing out big time. The C6 is everything I wished the C5 was and more. I didn't think it was possible for a car to be this bloody good. I'm not knocking the C5 at all, but the C6 really is in another league. Link below, enjoy.

i read the review you did on the C6 section and TBH i was kind of disappointed by the conclusion you've come to and made me somehow regret i didn't sell the C5 when i recently had a very good offer for it and buy the C6

....i didn't drive the C6 as much as you did, and even though i am a gadget lover and like the overall feeling that the C6 gave me, in a strange way i kind of prefer the C5, at least for now

...definitely the C6 is better made, faster, more reliable but somehow it lacks that
thing that the C5 has, some call it personality or maybe it's just that fact that it was the first born RS6 and it is where it all started for this segment, it will always have this
thing....the way i see it is that in the C5 i get that feeling close to a go kart, while in the C6 i don't feel so close to the road, it seems much more detached, much more of a luxury car than a sports car...anyway, i still got to see how almost 800hp feel like

I'm sure the C6 is better in most respects to the C5 but I couldn't live with the looks, I must say that the loon is the better of the 2 though. The C7 on the other hand looks spot on IMO.

I'd probably sway the Cayenne for a C6 Avant (slightly less ugly), however the C5 still has something that the C6 lacks.
Don't forget Amar your C6 is a very very nice example. I'm not sure a "normal" one will be as epic.
C7 will be where I go when my C5 explodes.

The C5 doesn't feel like a go kart, if it did then
Shop wouldn't have bought an M3. Saying it's more 'raw' isn't true either IMO. It's just nowhere near as refined. I have the same feelings for the RS2 and B5 RS 4 that you describe for the C5 RS 6, as they are genuinely quite rare and special whereas the C5 was made in much higher numbers (in comparison).
The C7 looks alright, but it's not exactly special or exclusive with it sharing it's engine with with 3/4 other VAG group cars, not having an S Tronic box and only having the same power as the F10 M5, which will also drive better.
You'll remember I was quite upset when the C5 went, and wandered if I'd made the right decision. I wasn't expecting the C6 to be this good and had only bought it as a stop gap before I went and got myself a 997 Turbo. It turns out, though, that the C6 RS 6 is a masterpiece. I have no plans to sell it on now whatsoever. That's how epic it is.
Shop - Don't just take my word for it, you're welcome to drive it and see for yourself.

*wondered
I'll take you up on that.
The reason I bought an M3 is because I value my RS6 is too much to put it on a track. Or leave in a car park. Or use for dull trips.

If I had the money to blow on it I wouldn't hesitate for 2 seconds to dump the C5 for a C6. Honest.
She's going to throw another fit after me saying this I'm sure.

Who cares about the weight when.
1. It goes faster
2. It stops quicker
3. It handles better (understatement)
There hasn't been a single moment where the car has felt heavier than the C5.
Looks are a personal thing, personally I think the C6 saloon looks great. It's so bloody wide, fat and beefed up. Nothing like a normal A6.
Just look at the arches on mine.
