When i look at the split, i see a black piece of round material without thread.
Is that the pinchbolt (😁) or part of the upper controlarm?

Mav, the pictures you've just posted of the pinch bolt, is that of yours?
If yes, you've got it halfway out, just keep undoing it and try to put a spanner in between the head of the bolt and the upright at the same time.
You could also try to open the split up slightly where the pinch bolt goes through.
And yes, the bit without thread is still the bolt.

So i made a start today dismantle the front suspension.
This bugger one is in rock solid, tried abusing the housing with a hammer, tried to turn the bold, nothing seems to work.
Sprayed with wd40 couple times.
Are there more options to get it loose without distroying the bold and drill it out?

Where the ball joints go through the upright, spray both with some lubricant, the ball joints could be tight against the bolt stopping it from coming out.

Another trick, with the car on axle stands, try putting your jack under the suspension arm and jack it up. This should bring the top ball joints flat.

Hi,

Thanks for your input.
No, the picture is from Bens guide.
There is absolutely no movement in the bold.
Ill try to raise the suspension arm next...

Good luck.
If you have some penetrating oil/spray, give it a good soak in that first.
If you have a copper/hide hammer, give the arm a smack while you are trying to undo the bolt.

It's always the way, if you didn't need to use the car it would have flown out.
What are you using to try and undo it? Spanner or socket and bar?

Heavy hammer on the left where i have the nut to hammer on, socket and bar on the right, but not simultanious.
The little space on the left to make force with the hammer doesnt help either😁

None have worked.
The planned next weeks wednesday has been rescheduled a week later,so that stress is gone😁
I think there are 2 options at the moment.

1. Sheer the bolt head off and drive the rest of the bolt out by tightening the nut (with some washers) . Risk of ruin the thread when it is still stuck.
2. Cut the bolt in the split part, drive the left part out with nut, the right part hammer out with a round piece of metal.

I can feel your pain Mav.
Keep giving it lots of penetration fluid. Allow to soak in and then more and more fluid.
Like the video you posted. Try turning the bolt at the same time as hammering.
Have you tried some heat either side of the split as previously suggested.
If all else fails cut it. New bolt required. But after all the hammering your old bolt won’t be any good so nothing lost there.
Whatever you do don’t knock <beep> out of the hub.
Very expensive to replace and the tapered holes are easily damaged.

Hi mav. Yes that’s a really nice piece of kit.
Initially the bolt head is worked to snap off the head. Or you could use a cutting disc to cut it off.
The two wedges in the slots are keeping the bolt holes straight and in line. Stops the slotted section pinching the bolt as you are trying to remove them.
The drawing tool is using the old bolt thread to “draw” the bolt out through the pipe.
I am sure you could simulate that kit with a bit of fabrication. Spacers Pipes and washers etc.
But maybe it’s cheap enough to purchase one.
Well worth looking into mate.
The garage that did mine knackered both hubs. IIRC They were a grand each. Had to get two new ones for mine.
Best of luck mate. Hope you are successful.

Please do not hammer the hubs. Or it will cost you a lot.
They are ally and the top holes are tapered and very easily damaged rendering them useless if you take a hammer to them and mis shape the taper.

I think unit 20 use something similar to remove that bolt.
Local garage destroyed mine and unit 20 got the job of putting it right.
Just a afterthought. If the tool is expensive. Perhaps some members would share the tool and costs.
Even though I have just had mine done. I would be prepared to “chip in” for a fellow member.
