Well, it wasn’t a complete failure but it wasn’t a complete success. The screen was the right one. It was fitted reasonably well. However, what nobody noticed before fitting was that the channel at the bottom of the screen where the plastic trim clips in was slightly deformed which means the trim doesn’t sit flush with the glass on one side. Ffs.

They’re willing to replace it under the carglass warranty. I need to decide whether I can live with the misalignment or whether I want to go through the trauma of watching them almost screw up my paintwork / alcantara / dash.

Just crap quality control at pilkington, or possibly damaged in transport.

The original screen had steel clips on the bottom of the screen. This has a plastic / plastic coated channel.
