I just clicked on the link in the forum. They look the right ones....

No not fitted yet, no time will have to be at the weekend or early next week.

It's a five minute job ONLY if the holders come out easily!

Just fitted mine, it is only a five min job if you have hands the size of a two year old. Mine are not exactly big but they were a little hard to get hold of.

Oh and I had ordered the right ones .............. :-)

Ok guys, if I can do it anyone can.

Took 15 mins in total but would have been less if I hadn't made mistakes.

I don't mind mentioning them so other people can learn.

As described before simply unclip the 2 metal brackets holding the back in place.

You can them move them back about 2 inches. The left hand side seem trickier (this was the cause of mistake no 2 later)

Mistake 1 remove the correct bulb!! I took out the full beam one and wondered what all the fuss what about. Before I took out the bulb I switched on the sides and realised the bulb was still in the light doh!!

The correct one can only be seen by putting your head right in.

Image

The correct one is the red and brown (This is upside down)

If you get your hand right in and get a strong grip on the black plastic (over the lips) it pulls out quite easily.

Image

The bulb then simply pops out and then new one slides in

Image

It alls goes back quite easily but on the LHS it was tighter and after testing my main light was off.

This was mistake no 2, when putting the black back under the metal clips I have moved the holder for the main bulb.

Easy to fix but worried me for a minute.

The end results have all ready been posted above but this is well worth 15 minutes and few pounds.

Also what about the full beam? Can you get white bulbs for that?

Got my replacements ones today as well, well pleased with the results.
As Steve says what other bulbs can be modernised?

Was going to get some for the missus' X3 until I looked at the back side of the headlight unit, far too many bits to remove just to change an already working bulb out!

Can someone post the known correct link for ordering these here, to avoid any possible confusion? CheeRS.
