Yup it's an Audi (Mondial?) extended warranty, (It'd better be) so kicks in from Sept 2007 and obviously part of the deal. No idea how they differ from the original 3 year manufacturers one, I'm sure someone will enlighten us.

Mine has the same warranty cover as yours Bob.

I've just been into Chester Audi and they are looking at the Sat Nav and passenger seatbelt with no quibbles.

Saw it yesterday, nice chap brought it down for me and stood around in the cold while I looked for imperfections, to be honest apart from a tiny graze on one alloy to be sorted I couldn't fault it. Also had a few bonus points that I didn't know about - RS6 embossed mats (or were these standard?) Sunroof which I didn't think was there, an additional (expensive, apparently) immobiliser and armourfend.

So, if all goes well, it will be with me next weekend....

PS Read somewhere that they had Trackers fitted? Need to give my insurance company as much info as possible!

Cheers, and looking forward to it.

Just one tip on the tracker front... Check and double check with your insurer which tracking devices they accept. Mine came with a Tracker Retrieve fitted, although my insurer verbally advised that they accepted this, once the documentation was copied to them they kindly informed me that they do not accept the Tracker Retrieve, only Tracker Monitor or Tracker Horizon and therefore with immediate effect I had no theft cover!!!

After a few rather heated debates with customer services, the fact that they record all conversations actually paid off, as they checked the tape and agreed that I had been miss-sold a policy and they therefore picked up the tab for installing a Tracker Monitor and I maintained continued theft cover.

I don't believe RS6's come with memory seats.

My local dealer had a Daytona Avant in before Christmas but it's been moved on to another dealership. It had the red leather interior which personally I don't think suits daytona grey ... black most definetely yes. My Daytona has got black leather with piano (black) fascia trim which I reckon looks quite classy ... although certainly the most boring colour combination.

Personally, I would never opt for a sun roof - although I would have been quite pleased if the solar sunroof had been fitted. I had a sunroof on my previous car and I honestly think I only used it 3 times in just over 2 years of ownership - climate control does the job for me.

Hope your search is going well ... have you decided if you're going down the RS6 path?

Rich.

Hi Rich .... yes, heart is ruling at the moment, so looking to buy a RS6 Avant. Saw my first Misano Red one yesterday at Audi dealership .... I actually was surprsied that I liked that color alot! Very Ferrari -esq .... even the wife liked it too. However, dont think that particular car is for me, had no full leather which I really need because kids like vomitting alot, and probably will do more with 450BHP on tap.

Extended warrenty, watch this space. My RS6 is coming up to 3 years, so i have enquired about extending. My dealer advised me to hang on 3 weeks, as the dealers have been moaning to Audi that they are too highly priced and apparently there is a review taking place that will probably end with the prices being lowered.

Of course if they aren't, you didn't hear this useless advice from me.

read below in bold, this guy has a crystal ball !!!!
W8PMC wrote:Alot depends on your driving style.

I average 20MPG as an overall. Motorway doing 85MPH for a couple of hundred miles i can get mid 20's, push on & that drops into low teens.

Insurance is dependant on circumstance & area, my annual cost was 900. Servicing is expensive, but not overly relative to the car, although i think Audi are well know for a rather high labour cost. Now Audi appear to have removed cam-belt check at 20K & replace at 40K, the overall cost has dropped.

Consumables are very costly & this comes back to your driving style. I was getting through tyres about every 8K miles & that's 1000 (Michelin PS2's). The RS6 is a heavy car, so pads & discs don't last long either, so look at around 10K for front pad changes which costs about 350 a hit & discs every 12-15K miles at 1000 for all 4. Rear pads last longer & IIRC are about 180 to change.

As for current & future values, i can vouch that RS6 prices are strong at the moment. You'd have to be mad to buy such a premium marque on ebay, so i'm hardly shocked those cars did not sell. Audi dealers are getting 40-42K for good 53 plate saloons with 20-30K miles. Mine (although heavily & costly modified) sold for over 40K this week (53 plate saloon with 27K miles).

My guess is that prices will continue to fall (that's what happens to car prices), but in 12 months i'd only expect a drop of about 3-4K & in 2 years perhaps 6-7K. Look at RS4's, very good examples are still well over 25K & even approaching 30K & they are close to 4 years old examples.

Saying that, we could enter a huge depression & the bottom drop out of the used car market, who knows
, but if you want one then get one, as any high ticket motor is gonna be costly to own & maintain.

As aside, look at Bentley Conti GT's, a 12 month example with 6000 miles could be on your drive for 87K, yet some poor bastard paid over 122K 12 months earlier (over a 35K hit in 12 months).
