Re: Christine is back
Currently Under the car. From what I am being informed
Front leak is the near side turbo oil drain pipe.
Other leak is the transfer box output shaft oil seal.
Waiting for a price and parts availability.

Never rains but it pours right ?
At least it ticks a few things off the list. Less to hopefully go wrong down the line. At least, that's the way I like to look at it

Re: Christine is back
Exactly this. That’s also the way I am looking at it. Plus the two rocker cover gaskets have a small leak.
Get these done at the same time.
Was going to be done last time. But the gaskets didn’t arrive.

Re: Christine is back
Spare parts are due to arrive tomorrow.
So will be heading to Neston again very soon.
Hope this visit cures the two oil leaks.
Fingers crossed
Brake problem now sorted.
Calipers discs and pads to the front
Brake booster valve replaced.
Flex hoses replaced
The awkward vac pipes below the air box were also replaced.
Rear calipers discs and pads were done last year so hopefully brakes are now good for a while.

Re: Christine is back
One step forward and two steps backwards at the moment.
Parking sensors playing up. Long continuous beep when reverse selected.
Drivers in door light stopped working. Micro switch ???
Don’t care at the moment cos I am still ecstatic with the pedal box fix. Sorry to keep going on about this. But the difference in the driving experience is immense.

Turns out the constant bone shaking was what was keeping everything else working. Funny how it goes.

Yup, most commonly the microswitch in the lock mechanism (assuming you already checked the bulb).
I've not found a good aftermarket replacement yet, so I can only recommend new OEM locks.
Fortunately actual replacement is easy, even though you do have to remove the entire window assembly - it's not as scary as it looks.

Re: Christine is back
Hi Matt. Do you have to remove the door card to check or replace the bulb.
Re: Christine is back
Assuming you mean the puddle light - nah. The unit just prizes out from below.
You can tell if it's the microswitch or not though.
If the interior lights are off and you open the door - if the lights come on, it's likely the bulb. If the lights stay off, it's likely the microswitch.
(Assuming you have the interior lights set to come on when the door opens)
I've replaced all my door locks & puddle lights at some point - just one of those things. I actually got the LED puddle lights that project "RS6" onto the ground. Some call it cheezy, but I like it.

You can test the microswitches with the Vagcom, too.

Re: Christine is back
Cheers guys. When I open the door the interior lights illuminate.
So hopefully it might be the bulb. Will check it this afternoon.
I did replace both front door locks around two years ago. So if I am lucky it won’t be that.

Re: Christine is back
Replaced the drivers door puddle light bulb.
Still not working.
Have to dig deeper.
My wife has tidied up the garage again.
Cannot locate my multi meter.
Or anything else for that matter.

Re: Christine is back
Just ebay - google for Audi Puddle Light.
There's 100's of them. Most of my bulbs were blown and/or there was corrosion on the contacts, so I was just going to replace them and spotted these so thought I'd give em a go.
They work very well.
