Looks like more voodoo.

Thanks for that, thought something had fallen off.Shoppinit wrote:No, it's for alignment purposes. There's a tool that goes in there.

Unit came back yesterday. All in it cost £244.80.
Reinstalled and all put back together. I've been out for a 40 mile drive and fingers crossed it all seems fine. No abs or esp lights!
All in all v pleased.
Good service from ECU testing on the link on page 1

Guessing they didn't hint on what the actual problem was? I.e. dry joints on connector etc?

To be fair to them when I called to pay I did ask them and they did tell me. Something about a link of some sort . To be honest I didn't know what he was talking about so I was thankful that they found something . In the general scheme of things if that is it cured then I'm happy. They send you paperwork saying its a lifetime guarantee so it seems like a fair deal to me.simonpoulton wrote:Guessing they didn't hint on what the actual problem was? Removal wasn't too bad . Getting the water bottle disconnected and then past the intercooler cowling was the hardest bit.
Re: ABS and ESP lights on
Repair process explained. 9/10 cases the problem is with those very fine gold wires breaking off from the solder joint.
Re: ABS and ESP lights on
Refreshing this old thread.
My car is throwing error on left front and rear speed sensor. I know the ABS module in the car was changed to a used unit by previous owner and i also got a rebuilt unit when i bought the car.
How pita is the process of changing the unit? An final question, is this unit the same as in a 2004 A6 1.8TQ ?
Appreciated.

Re: ABS and ESP lights on
So.. Seems like the unit already in my car has been previously fixed by ECU Testing in UK, and the spare is a used one.
The used unit, will it have to be recoded? If so, can this be done with propper Ross Tech cable?
Changing sensors did not work...
Just happen to come by this under a complete scan with VCDS now..

Anyone with a clever idea?
