If Grizz says subframe to get to the bolt your after, then there's a reason for it.
Engine mounts are just as bad from recollection.
A lot of labour their
Not for the faint hearted. Personally would rather not do any kind of repair like that, and would avoid a car where it was a do it yourself repair. getting a repair done by those mechanics like Grizz / MRC will ensure everything is done properly and they will tell you what else to do whilst there Stripping it down.

That's why you need deep pockets!
Why are you always so negative.. & always worrying about deep pockets.. Also I'm sure mrc are great but there not the only folk in the world to work on Audis (RS's etc) I will be using them as it sounds like their very good on what they do & know... but for the stuff I would normally get done or do myself I will continue to have a go.. That's the beauty of having a car.. I'll do the same to my Ducati bike (which again is meant to be a nightmare to own).... Basic services & maintenance is part & parcel of being a man ;)

I'm. Booked in with them next month so I'm sure I'll get a good induction into owning a C5 when I'm there..

Just to add only 3 faults were shown from doing a scan.. 2 relate to the Cat & one to the known sensitive sensor of the mounting.. So can't be that much of a bad purchase if that's all was reported...

Will hang in there for new & use the wise words of the forum members to direct me when & where required
