can someone dig up how many miles the Mooch used to get out of them?
My memory is 8-10K.....

But remember Mooch was a lunatic with a right foot cased in lead, lunatic power, and a propensity for hurling the beast into the scenery!

Hi Moochie if you're there - we miss you!! :beerchug:

I reckon with "normal" Beast driving you should get abou 15K, and the PS2's from my experience were gone at 20K.

My Vreds come in somewhere between the two, but cost less, and if you look back most people loved them - but they sure didn't suit Ol' Moochie!

Michelins only last 9500 on the front of the Sportback! Pretty sure they were Pilot Sport 2.

The Super Sports are meant to be amazing, but not worth the small fortune they cost over Asymmetrics imo

Really looking for tyres that I can just stick on and forget about, that will give me good wear and good performance for as much of the year as poss.

When you are aalready staring down the barrel of £240ish per Asymmetric, is another £45 or so per corner for the Super Sports?

Now that I have done the deal on the wheels at least I can say what they are. Bought their last set of the 9.5x19 Oz Superturismo LM (http://www.ozracing.com/car_wheels_var/ ... 25498.aspx) in Graphite from Revolution Motorsport at around £200 off. Both Glenn (Boss) and Keith (Manager) were really helpful throughout. Bought a Scooby exhaust sysstem from them back in the day and had forgotten how great these guys were tbh :D. They have given me bundle prices for Vreds and Asymmetrics. Not sure if they can get the Super Sports in but am going to ask.

Well all I can say is that the Vred's I have fit the "put on and forget" category - currently I see Camskill have them at £172/corner (http://www.camskill.co.uk/m55b758s342p0 ... 75_30_R_19) which is pretty good, though they were down around £150 at one time.

Do you want to sell your 18" wheels BTW??

I most certainly do want to sell the 18's as I need to get back whatever money I can get! I am going to get these new wheels sent to MRC once assembled then will be up there ASAP for final suspension/wheel/exhaust alignment, the wheels will be available from then and if memory serves 1 tyre is virtually brand new and the rest were all replaced within the last few months by the previous owner, along with the wheels being refurbished.

Perplexed how I got so many miles out of my F1s so I dug out my C6 brake recept from Grizz (my wheels were put on a week later). 103k miles as far as I can figure it. That means I've got 13,000 miles out of 'em... still good value. The fronts a bit scratchy now.
No matter where you go, there you are.

13K sounds about right - as per my post below, 15K for "normal" Beast driving - only Mooch could eat them in under 10K!

Another vote for Vreds here, i know Mooch hated them but i don't push my car as hard as him or have the same power.

Thing is that I am one of these guys that is as happy on 3/2 wheels powersliding about the place when conditions allow as I am going in a straight line. All that time with deathtrap Linglongs back in the day leaves its mark! In my old age the difference is that I want to have utter confidence and feedback almost no matter what the conditions are, without resorting to 2 sets of wheels.

Mr Footlong wrote:Thanks for that, let's see what Bam can chime in on this too. If you believe all the reviews and videos etc etc, the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres seem to be as important as the 2nd coming of Christ for the tyre world...

I forgot to mention, while the sound of the exhaust system well & truly got the 'moistness' approval from the other half last night after she followed me home in darkness, she commented heavily on a suspicion that I already had. The Dectane Litec Rear LED lights. Now that they have changed out the indicators for LED ones as well (earlier versions had both standard reverse and indicator bulbs), they are POOR!!!! I thought they were bad already but she said that half the time it looked like I wasn't indicating. While I may drive it like I stole it, one thing I always, always do is indicate any change of lane or change of road etc. Going to have to see how it goes but they might have to go based on this alone sadly.
<beep> about the lights. I was seriously looking at these to go on my shopping list. Might have to check the FK ones out and see what they are like

Sorry dude. Dk should be able to comment on this too as his RS6 had the LED Indicator-equipped Dectanes and I think his were smoked too. That is if he can remember that many cars back ;)

Onto the next thing. The factory silver mirrors. In 2 minds about this. The official covers are stupid, stupid money for what they are and with the Grey wheels going on I am not sure if they would be a good choice but the other side of me says that they should be on the car to match the other silver bits.........

I have seen these and was considering taking a punt but not really sure how close the match will be considering that they are plastic and the real ones are actually metal are they not? - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-Alu-Look ... 19c5113169

Thoughts appreciated ladies :)

Could hunt for some official ones off one being broken up but god knows how much they would want for them.... Need to go and use the search facility again to confirm that I can't just slap folding ones on, change the mirror control button and get folding mirrors back. Have been standard on all my other proper cars except for this one.....

Sadly with no other carbon on the car they just wouldn't look right to me and if I was going to go for carbon, I would actually get carbon mirrors because I am a muppet and would feel dirty with stick on carbon :(

Very la de daa Mr. Footlong, and I hear what your saying. But I don't even think Audi bothered with real carbon, our engine covers aren't real carbon are they nor my interior trim for that matter?
