Really excited to hear yours, I put my back seats down today so it would let more noise through to the cabin, done 300 miles wondering 'is it louder, nahh uhmm maybe a little' Hard times.

Sod all this 'drone moan', it's how you drive it. Just change gear.

I used to have a very loud A8 4.2 and changing gear or going 3-4 MPH faster would sort it. I can live with that.

El rings, I have the same as you and don't get drone unless at very low rpm, which doesn't happen very often, no drone on motorway etc etc.

It's very loud, no where near as loud as the gruppe m on my m3, but certainly loud enough to attract unwanted attention.

Only slightly irritating when stuck in a SPECS zone at 50 odd mph in 5th gear. I tend to just put it in 4th

It's a smidge louder, really not worth the price they charge new IMO if you've already got the factory plus exhuast. It would probably be worth it on a an RS6 that had a standard exhuast. Will take Amanda's car out tomorrow and see if non res is for me, if not I may go back to the standard sports exhuast and sell this Milltek.
Amar, why not wait untill you have had it de-catted then make your mind up. There will be a little more noise from that. Your like a bloody old woman moaning all the time

I'm guessing you meant the plus exhaust is like a RES exhaust, not non res?????? Otherwise your saying the car is now quieter

Yep!

As mentioned, whilst I didn't quite go in them back to back, there was a massive difference between the stock 04 Avant and the 04 Plus I sampled.

Haha, gits.

Her car was awesome to drive, apart from the slipping gearbox. It was the perfect noise, drone isn't a problem. Just push the peddle a little less or more. I took it out on my own and came back 15 mins later grinning. I'm sure the tyres were a scrambling for grip at 40mph with all the torque. It also confirmed my steering wheel (four spoke) is truly crap, and full leather is the way forward. Sorry for moaning like a b*tch Dunc, I'm actually not that miserable in person. The C6 brakes were great too by the way, I can see why Amanda loves her RS so much now!!

Just drove back from darling's tonight with her driving her car too. She said that every single time I overtook her/others the noise was glorious and made something primal stir in her. Non res and decent cats are the way forward. I just wish I had known about the heatsoak issues on these and I would have stuck to my guns and wrapped my downpipes like I did with all others and manifolds and this always lowered my under bonnet temps nicely.

I still reckon that if the downpipes are only wrapped to the point were they should pick up too much waterspray, that they should be fine. This is just on all my experience with wrapping and doesn't make me an expert!
