Mods on the 6 are usually in 4 figure sums if not then late 3 figure sums. The 6 is a beast especially if you have a heavy right foot, and drinks fuel like nothing else. Not really a track car IMHO either, more the load lugger with a big bag of tricks, if you know what I mean. The end decision is yours, but choose wisely, they DO hurt the pocket.Sikosid wrote:I''m aware the runnig costs are high but i'll be ok with that.
I've just given myself a personal budget for my next car. I could spend more but i have other commitments too so don't want to spend much more. I can't justify spending £15k on the next car as I know i'll spnd more getting it how i like. I spend a lot on modifying cars (my last few cars have seen a lot of money thrown at them). However with this i'd only be looking to do a few mods so i'll have a lot more available to maintain/run it. I'm sure i'll be ok on that side.
Coilovers, brakes and exhaust is pretty much all an RS6 needs imo. Then drive it and do the odd trackday
New coilovers, brake upgrade (when they're due changing) and a few other bits are probably all i'd want to do to an RS6. I've been browsing and i know they aren't cheap to run/mod.
With regards to trackdays - not the ideal track weapon but i'll only do about 5 a year, so it should be fineI won't be going the whole hog with stripping/caging it etc.
TBH i'm in no rush to buy, so i'll be keeping my eyes peeled for an RS6 or an M3. I'll take whichever comes first
I think the Evo is out the window, interior really puts me off and i'm not 100% sure i could live with one - still lovely cars, but i don't think it's right for me.
I have both the 6 and m3 .........ask me what is my fave?

i have had both. Standard. Sold the m3 for a family car. Beemer was not as quick off the spot and needed revs to get the best out of it. On damp roads the traction light would go mad. It was certainly more controlled and balanced. The power and weight of the rs6 always makes me feel i am going to run out of road (and talent). For a big car though its stunning. Good compromise but if i had the money for an M5 estate.....and Amanda what are you doing up at 445 am??
