On your LPG conversion point: Yes its cheaper to buy the fuel but when you put your foot down your still gonna dip heavily into the regular fuel tank. And also, its never usually the engines that give us greif on the C5 (unless you dont look after it). I'd be more worried about DRC and gearbox cover if i were you rather than spunking £1200 on LPG trickery. A gearbox will set you back £5.5 - £7k if it goes (and there's no rhyme or reason to them failing). DRC will set you back £3k to get all 4 corners done or £1.5k - £2k for coilover conversion. Servicing will cost £500+ for a 10k interval, £750 for 20k and £1200 - £2k for a 40k belt change. On top of that you have tyres at approx £1k per year / 12k, fuel at average 21mpg (sensible driving) / 15mpg (normal driving) / <10mpg (mooch driving), brake pads and disks at £1500 a set etc etc. Then add afew grand a year for diagnosis and repair work and your about right. You can see where your £1200 might be better spent / saved.
The C6 is a good idea right now as you benefit from a solid Audi warranty (??), but dont expect it to be any more reliable or cheaper to run. Both are equally great cars, but the C5 comes with more financial risk (based on the C6 being covered by warranty). As said before, you cant get any more informed than reading the points on this forum. And if i were to buy an RS6 now, i'd buy it from a 246.com owner. It doesnt make the purchase / ownership any cheaper but at least you buy with confidence that its not been ragged, mistreated and badly serviced.

what about the warranties... does anyone else bother with them? warranty wise seem okay with 10K claim limit.. would they not cover drc and box against breaking?
Here you go - http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... conversion Probably answers all your questions, and even one's you didn't know you had.
Includes piccie of tank etc. Your problem is that you still have to find somewhere for the battery

Didn't someone on here put a lithium battery in? Much smaller and lighter...

nice one guys... i must have gone blind!Shoppinit wrote:http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... ad&id=6982
hmmm... its going to be difficult to relocate that heffing battery! any suggestions as i dont want it to take up any space in the boot... the only thing i can thing of if i stayed with the oem batt is to make some kind of neat box for it and carpet it so it doesnt stand out or get in the way!
I wander if a smaller racing red top battery would be anygood in the rs6? we used to fit these to race cars and they were pretty small but im not sure of the cycle... most v8s need a high cold cranking power dont they?

Dave
if we do the conversion i just want it to be perfect and not go to far from oem look
