from what I've heared, (can't confirm it)

if you are flashed by a static speed camera, nothing happens, the EU laws aren't good enough yet to have it processed to other countries

and if you get lasered and stopped by the cops, you pay 80 euro right on the spot, no matter how much you were doing over.

by the way a good tip

Germany is awesome, but when they actually do have a speed limit posted like with road works and stuff, you really should keep to that speed.

In Holland we do get the German fines in the mail. Not sure about UK

I'm surprised by this. I suppose it was inevitable that they would put their databases together one day.

However, even if the fine does find you, you won't get points from an offense in another country.

I imagine enforcement is practically impossible, too.

So the moral of the story is to keep going as fast as you can? I guess that's why they wait at the toll booths.... D'oh.

That would be fun. I'd like to see a gendarme try to keep up in his Renault 4L. OR myabe they have clios these days. I suppose that's why they give them guns :(

points won't be taken off no

but fines can be high, and if you don't pay, you probably shouldn't visit the country anymore either

And this is what happens when you go from a 4L to an Impreza WRX:

David

you'll have a blast ! I take mine to Monaco every year on a boys trip and its awesome. Watch out for speeding on the french roads - they'll inpound your car for circa 110+ = holiday over. however the speed traps tend only to be within 100 miles of Calais waiting for all the brits to give it large as soon as they arrive.

The six comes into its own over 100 - its just awesome and relentless !
