So Rich does that mean yu paid full whack dealer prices to have three replaced....ouch. Can you not just turn the bloody thing off and check the tyre pressures ourselves like you would on any other car?

It was all done under warranty so didn't cost me a penny thankfully. I had however resorted to switch it off in the DIS menu just to stop it annoying me.

In the end I took it to a different Audi dealership (York Audi who were excellent) as my local dealership refused to touch the Bimoto's for fear of damaging them but wouldn't free issue the sensors to me so I could get them done by the tyre fitters I use - catch 22. York Audi weren't phased by the Bimoto's at all and got straight on with it - I couldn't ask for more professional conduct!!!

I wanted the TPM fixed though as I like the safety feature for when your on the move ... would I have done it if it were out of my own pocket . £400 for sensors plus £50 to £100 fitting I'm not sure. There's more appealing things I could spend £500 on and as you point out a weekly check with a pressure gauge will make sure there's no problems.

it probably wouldn't require that all are replaced. mine was a single battery low condition. has been good with no "false alarms" for 6months now...

Hi Chaps,

Just to complete the thread......

The VAG came up with a fault on the nearside rear stating 'supply voltage too low' but the sensor was showing 30months life remaining???

I bought a new sensor from here http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/option/other for £65 (exacly the same make as the Audi one but without the OOOO symbol!!) and all is now cured!!

Cheers,
Lig.

I found that replacing all 4 wheels + TP sensors worked for me. Doh. So much for the 30 months life left.

had my unit replaced under warrenty about 3 weeks ago. I went in telling them the unit was faulty as its the only thing it could be because the sensors were all fine ( changed the wheels around to see if the fault came from the same sensor!). they tried to charge me 1.5 hours investigation time............ madness. I told them what it was before I went in there!

Also has anyone else been refused a courtesy car because of a driving ban. I got a 1 week ban for a minor speeding miscalculation o the motorway!!! he he, Audi wouldn't let me have a courtesy car unless I covered it fully comp on my own insurance.

the driving ban is all about their insurance. pretty reasonable really.

it would be nice to get all the sensors replaced in one sitting, but warranty claims doin't seem to work that way. it's a bit like trying to get them to replace tranny fluids to avoid future issues with the tranny. no joy "until there are issues"

Any one got a picture of what the sensor looks like, I have the same symbol but can't get rid of it at all. Car won't allow me to try and set the tyre presures either.

I have exactly the same problem with my RS6 and the dealer recons they reset the system using their computer- what they actually did was fail to spot what I guess is that one of the sensors needs a new battery and in addition reset my DIS so that it no longer displays the radio from my RNS-e which was retrofitted- I do sometimes wonder just how expert these dealers ever get since the rs was in production for only 2- 3 years but I am now going to have to waste my time explaining to the service department how they should do their job- mind you I do charge £350/hour for my time so they had better listen andunderstand quickly otherwsie they will be giving me money back!!!
