I couldn't either. I assume it is due to have 3 saloon owners in the one place. It burst a hole in the space/time continuum!

ALE-RS6
Please tell me your surname is Martin.
How cool would that be.
I would be very envious mate.

Aston. Where are you in the uk.
Whatever you do don’t let anyone work on your car unless they are familiar with the AUDI RS6 C5.

Places like unit 20 and MRC really know these cars. Try the members on here to recommend a garage in your area.

Garages who are unfamiliar with our cars will cost you thousands and a whole host of problems.

Please don’t ask me how I know.

Haha, unfortunately not. Maybe I was conceived in the back of one and that’s how they came up with the name. I don’t support Aston Villa either before anyone asks.

I’m in Warrington so if anyone has any recommendations in the North West area that would be helpful. Unit 20 is not far from me at all so may give them a go if they come recommended?

I got back home tonight, there was a break in the weather and my control arms had arrived so I thought it would be wise to make a head start. Took me most of the time to get the rear lower arm bolt out! What a tricky bugger to manoeuvre. Didn’t help that the damaged arm is mangled also. Once I finally got it off, the strut fell right back into position. Only another 3 to go…

Lucky lucky lucky.
So close to unit 20. (Neston)
Grizz, Lee and Lee know these cars backwards.
You couldn’t be in better hands.

350 mile round trip for me. But very much worth the effort.

Looks like I have a garage sorted now then. Thanks for the recommendation Steve

Back in 2012 when I bought my car I used a number of local garages (including Audi), and I was never happy with the work done.
On occasion, I got the car back in a worse condition than it went in. And I had the privilege of paying them for doing a crap job !

Then I joined this forum who advised me to take the car to unit 20. They sorted the car out for me, and I will be forever grateful in fixing other garages shoddy workmanship.
I know a number of members who are full of praise of them and entrust their pride and joy to Grizz and his team.

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to you. Their workmanship is first class and they are very honest.

Yep I agree. Companies like Unit 20, MRC and Quattro Clinic are worth their weight in gold. However I was speaking with Martin ‘Grizz’ Adam’s just last week and he doesn’t offer a service for the C5’s anymore. His reasoning is that so many parts are NLA (no longer available). How strict he is with this I am not sure? Most respectable garages dislike using parts that the customer has brought (especially when they are not genuine). I have heard that Doug is taking a similar stance to both tuning and servicing. These garages have a good reputation and want to keep it so.
These are strange times and in the next few years we will see more and more RS6’s broken for spares due to lack of genuine or quality replacement parts. As an example; I know of 3 builds at the moment where bearing shells are an issue, just can’t find any…

Build their reputable on the backs of C5 owners then abandon them. Nice.

New owner - looking for LH headlight

I understand their situation. Audi only guarantees parts availability ten yrs after the last production model has left the line. We’ve been quite lucky.
I also understand that as a commercial business they don’t want the additional complication of dealing with Audi tradition in Germany. The relationship with Audi tradition was better before Brexit. Joe Bloggs in the UK could buy parts easily, just like I do here in Finland. But now it’s businesses only…

I use PSI Tuning in Staffordshire. They are happy to use parts I supply as I'm usually quicker at finding them than they are. I use reasonable suppliers like Autodoc though and they're always new. Others I know of on here have had issues with them but I haven't really had more than the odd disagreement, which in 9 years isn't bad. I don't know whether they'd be ok with someone they'd never done work for before pitching up with parts or not though.

NLA parts are a big problem. Autodoc are quite a good source for some things.

I do think some kind of group buy/manufacturing of hard to get things might be a good idea over the coming years.
