Re: Knock sensor help please
I didn’t see the T in the first photo.

Re: Knock sensor help please
I see. Looking at what I’ve got there isn’t really another way to put it unless there is loads wrong with the lines. I have no other fault codes. Just the knock sensor one and an an engine mount. Would have thought vac issues would throw codes

My plumbing looks more like this, but with standard DVs.IchBautAuto wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 2:24 amThese are alloy DV and I've changed them out for GFB products but you can just see the vacuum pipework, marries and then to the vacuum source. 7zap or the equivalent should give you the actual pipe layout.DV vac pipework.jpgHuman Joist wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2020 10:27 pmHadn’t touched that pipe work. What should they be connected like then ?

Wonder if it just looked a bit odd as it’s missing the other pipes that run above it normally. Then again they are all older cars now so you might miss if things have been rerouted over the years in garages

Nor did I but with some zoom, there it is without the vac hose attached, cleverly camouflaged. Looks like it is an PO mod, my picture showed the original factory vac lines and it seems they have been replaced with a different arrangement.

Re: Knock sensor help please
Ok cheers for that. Should the two DV’s link up then. Or is it just the pipe work has been renewed and looks different because of the lower down T piece. The PO was a knowledgable honest bloke who looked after the car and was a mechanic. So I’m wondering if he re did some aged or damaged vac lines as they look like genuine VW/Audi parts he used

To me it just looks like the lines have been replaced in a different configuration, but functionally the same. At this moment it doesn't look like you have anything to worry about.

All back together. Ran it while in service position and no new fault codes. All done now and re filled it with coolant. Will drive it tomorrow and fingers crossed the code is gone.
