I had a call from Audi today. News is that this is now with Audi AG Tech department and they are looking at how to best approach a resolution for all parties. I can't give any specifics, because I don't have any. I can't make any promises, because nothing in life is certain.
Phill, you're a star. Cheers for trying!

I think we should get Audi to pay in full in replacing DRC with PSS9's and then pay us for all the time we waisted at our Audi dealer by giving us £5000 in cash or £10,000 in Audi vouchers.
That's what i was thinking :D

I get the tapping noise from the front when cold and what sounds like a biscuit tin full of spanners in the back until everything warms up. I guess the DRC fairy has come calling. I've got it covered but looking at the stats, I realise that even if I get it fixed, then to sell the car again will be difficult, as this is like a blight on an otherwise brilliant car. The shocks were replaced just before I bought mine in Feb and it was inspected and declared solid. I am tempted to go with the Bilstein option.
How do the economics work against replacing say two shocks of the DRC?

Look, I got really fed up with the DRC and it was not helping my relationship with the wife who suggested selling the RS recently. So when it came to the service (today) I said look at the DRC will you and regas it, if poss, cos the car is bouncing around or crashing on road surfaces at the slightest imperfection.

Damper was leaking, suspension knocking, so instead of paying for the warranty and claiming later, I paid for the DRC to be fixed. Yippee and hoo bloody ray it actually goes round corners now and is lovely to drive, in fact drive even quicker!

I know I shouldn't have done it, I know Audi should pay for the sytem is fallable, almost 100% by the threads, but it was fix it and take the wife comfortably to Le Mans over 1000 miles next week, or risk her losing her temper, composure and having to sell the car under duress because the suspension was none existent. I just hope the RS knows what I've done and by the way Audi owes me.

Went to Stoke Audi, great guys very helpful, know what they are doing and read RS246.com.

I'm still gutted at the cost, but the ride is now superb. I partly caved in because they gave me a loan car for the day, A4 3.2 estate and it murdered the way mine drove. BUT now it drives brilliant!!

Dislike Audi for being so useless and slow to come to the table to offer a recall and fix the problem, didn't want PSS9's, as the car was designed with DRC and working DRC is what it shall have and so will I. Actually works brilliantly, completely different ride today. Did I say it now goes round corners!! and passed everything in sight, absolutely everything.

Please don't chastise me, as it still hurts to pay for something that you know (feel) will go wrong again, but it's love/hate for now, but the wife will be happy and so will I (for how long?).

Do you mind me asking the size of the bill, given my Warranty Company may be in the same position.

If the PSS9's are cheaper, then I will convince them to pay for that. If Warranty Companies read this forum, then we may all have a problem. Audi will cover it out of guilt, but at a much higher cost, which I guess will make the guilt easier for them to bear.

I really hope Gav it lasts a while, but saying that, you now have "AUDI" waranty on your DRC for 12 months.

Hope the trip's safe and goes well next week, i think for that you made the right choice, safety first, credit card later.

Safety as in "wife beating you over the head with a broken damper in France" :D
