Would love to spend a weekend detailing the Mug Blue... but then I'm just a bit odd like that!

I'm the policy holder and pops is additional driver
£1,800ish that also includes my Punto on a multi-car policy. The plus is £1600 and the Punto about £220. If I'd have bought an RS 6 saloon, the insurance would have been £1,100-1,200.

Guy a year younger then me at work pays the same on some knackered R reg Fiesta Zetec thing, no joke, but that's the Coventry postcode, he put my postcode in as an experiment and it came down a lot.

My renewal is coming up in a few weeks, it will be interesting to see what it'll be...
Amar, didn't you <beep> something with the Punto recently though? Has that not affected things?

I'm surprised you even get insurance Amar.

When I were a lad (now 33) I had a 1.3 MG Metro worth £500 and I paid over a grand for insurance. Now I have 2 lots of claims bonus's from owning 2 cars before multicar policies started. A - 14 years NCB, no accidents, no claims. B - 8 years NCB, no accidents, no claims. Still pay £500 for the RS6 and £200 for the missus 206.

LOL @ Shop.
Nah, well the Punto sort of lost control and damaged a wishbone (eventually snapped). No other car was damaged and there was no damage to any other property either. I wouldn't claim on it even if it were badly damaged, I bought the car as for it's 'disposable' capability.

Dunc, I've gone to sleep about 5/6 the past 3/4 days. I've only just got up 30mins ago. Need to get back in routine for work next week. Vision still a blur though.

I hear you, Nobby. When my dad was that age he probably rode to school on a camel or some <beep> being born in India in the 50s. Well, actually that's a lie as he came to the UK when he was very young and his first car was a Lada. :/ . I managed to get a well paid job at a young age and bought myself the car I always wanted, sometimes I wish I'd used the money on a deposit for a place but my heart won over my head this time around, and even though I had another PM with someone expressing intrest in buying the plus a few days ago - I've realised I'm going to find it really hard to let it go!

Haha!

Have (briefly) thought about trying to get into detailing in a commercial kind of way, but not sure I could cope with the sporadic nature of the work and the battle with the English weather... plus, I don't think I'm skilled enough yet for people to be willing to pay me money and let me loose on their pride and joy! I’ll keep it as a hobby I think!
