A recent EVO mag tyre test pretty much said they were downright dangerous - the stopping distances on it were quite comical compared to a premium offering.

You will indeed likely die in a machine as fast as a '6 on these!

Maybe they have changed the compound?

I had them fitted maybe 4 years ago now and found them ok.

As I said, I would only fit them in certain applications, when being compared to budget tyres.

I would not fit them on my R8 for example, but for a sub £10K car I would consider my options

Hit the nail on the head here. This is why, generally, we avoid the cheap ones = poorly/cheaply maintained.

I'm going for Michelin Pilot Super Sports next, they sound the dogs.

What on earth has the price of the car got to do with whether or not the tyres slam you into a tree or not?

What a ridiculous argument.

I've had these a couple of months now. They're good, not as good as the F1s but they are very, very good. The F1s will have 'em in the wet though, which is where they'll spend most of their time. Yes, it was noticeable in the wet.
Be very careful of fitting, they are a very square tyre.
No matter where you go, there you are.

I did tell people that the F1's were better in the wet but I am blissfully happy with the dry performance of my PSS on this barge and yes, they are big ass tyres...

I had R888's on My Evo VII and they were so sticky that the picked up all the dirt on a dusty, dirty road on a hot day 3 years ago and caused me to slide straight in to the back of a Clito at sub-10mph and write the Evo off :rocker:
