This has just reminded me - as of July you now need 2 breathalyser tests for driving in France. Cheap as chips in France, but silly prices in the UK.

Can't find your price on the Halfrauds site. Was it a special offer?

Jay-sus! Is that €1 for 5? Rip off Britain. It was a special offer at the till. I thought it sounded reasonable.

No, just one. But they won't sell you more than 5 at once.

They are not penalising people in France for not having them because, unsurprisingly, there are stock issues.

Have they actually made justifications as to why they're doing this? The French always have brilliant reasons and hidden agendas. Someone said it was to raise more revenue out of road users (via VAT). Much like the day-glow vests and spare light bulbs of a couple years back. What's next?
Everyone has to bring:
- Flavoured condoms (these will be taste tested)
- Anal lube (this will be tested on an anus until it loses slip faction. If you like that sort of thing then it is suggested you bring Vaseline. If you don't like that sort of thing and you'd just like to get it over and done with so you can get back on the road, it is suggested you bring a water-based lubricant or use a small amount of spit)
- A garlic press
- 2 x 1920s style sash windows made from a rare Swiss/German wood with embedded human teeth
- 1 tube of anchovie paste
- 9 brown paper bags
- 3.75g of koala bellybutton lint
- The semen of a Bipartisan three-legged blind gecko, aged at least 30 days in relatively high humidity
- A colour swatch from each of the national flags of French-speaking nations in the modern world
No matter where you go, there you are.

foreign drivers have a grace period of until November on the breathalysers

i broke down yesterday, 5 mins from Tunnel in Calais, on the motorway .... all their motorways are private, so you have to pay 175euro for the recovery truck

I just took mine to the South of FRance, Monaco and Italy and had absolutly no problems....infact it was a joy made me really appreciate the car.

I'm insured with HIC and the breakdown cover provided by them covers Europe....I would never go all that way without cover.

Apparently, one of the more draconian measures they have adopted if you are caught over the limit (booze) is they can confiscate your car!
