But which aftermarket head unit? I have the same problem and am trying to make up my mind between Alpine, Kenwood and Pioneer.

Looks like the GPS antenna wire goes directly to the headunit. It *seems* to unplug at the aerial itself, but nowhere in between.

hmm, i doubt that Shop, cant see them routing a entire cable with an arial attached through the car, i reckon it some either down the passenger C pillar or around the back of the Media units in the boot.

Yeah, it seems unlikely, but the wiring diagram shows no breaks like it does for the GSM for example. The latter is routed behind the wheel arch trim in the boot. No doubt the GPS aerial goes through there also.

It's pretty easy to get to. Start by removing the boot floor panel and the rest is obvious.

I believe the RNS-E has a FAKRA connector on it. Why don't you just get a new puck and put it in on top of the glovebox?

I think you misunderstand. The aerial isn't visible. It's still inside the car. Just a puck on top of the glove box, but under the dash.

Or run it to the front bumper like I did:

got my kenwood puck just above fuse box and get full signal. Shop is just making his car heavier at the front, no wonder he needs mich's on the car to help with understeer

Quite. You might have noticed that I've got on extra PS2 stuck on the front bumper to help with cornering.
