I used to use Super Blue fluid but I believe it is just fresh Audi stuff in there at the moment. I will see how it goes and at the first sign of soft pedal I will whip the wheels off and flush with uprated fluid
. They should be here on Weds, just in time for fitting.

I'm looking forward to Footlong's thoughts too, intresting that you say he is 'baking' them. Care to explain?

I think the compound is baked amar.
I'm getting my fluid changed in a months time and thinking of using Motul rbf600 fluid as the rs4 track boy's rate it. I won't be tracking my car but might aswell upgrade along the way.
Looking forward to 12'' report on knot hole twitching, hopefully it will be better

I'm very pleased with the ATE super blue stuff. Be a bit wary of the racing fluids because they are extremely hygroscopic and sometimes need flushing every 3 months. Makes sure you read on on the datasheet before buying.

Amar, not sure what is involved but part of the process of the pad bonding/curing is being cooked. I could get some super blue in time (might have a few bottles still actually), but I don't want the mechanic attacking the wheels with an airgun/unwrapped socket head, better just to do it myself. Never really got on with any of the guff Halfords one man bleeding kits. Is there a Holy Grail one out there that I am unaware of?

Never had any problem with the gunson eezibleed kit that I use. Use it each time I swap my calipers.

^^ eezibleed is great - i've used mine for brakes and coolant & they're very handy.
Good to know the xp10 isn't too aggressive on the discs - will probably give it a whirl when the time comes.
Anyone running 2 part rotors / bells here? Was chatting to a guy about AP rotors again at the weekend and really quite fancy popping a set on the Audi.

I'am waiting to hear from loba about their bells/rotors, think they use ap rotors.

Didn't know Loba made bells; can't see them listed on their website... They still work in progress??gingertoss wrote:I'am waiting to hear from loba about their bells/rotors, think they use ap rotors.
Guy I was speaking to can make bells to spec, but i'd need to supply a design or at the very least, dimensions and associated offsets.

Re: Can't wait for Ian to finish baking my XP10 front pads!
I saw some rs4 calipers that looked identical to my old c5 ones the other day - assumed they were off a b7 but not sure? If the b7 brakes are the brembo 8 pots could the loba/ap racing discs work?

Not important for me as I have the c6 setup (without vibration) but interesting none the less - the loba ones are much lighter!
