Thanks for all the sympathy - just what I needed last night! :boohoo:

And - some better news

Car is on its way to MRC and the Insurance company seem quite content that it's covered.

So next stage is to find out the mechanical (and financial) damage and get their blessing

And then we can decide what gets "tweaked" in the re-build!! :redrs4:

Happy to hear your good news, a friend did the same thing a few years back in his two month old SL55, that needed a new engine which was covered on his insurance.

Ouch, 2l VW engine cost us £1300 to repair from flood damage... it was pretty bent inside. Still have some of that parts removed as they're a work of art. I had 5 different people reccomend the same place to repair, they did a great job and the car's done 40,000 miles since without missing a beat.

Really sorry to hear that, Dave. What a nightmare. Of all the things that could happen to a '6 it had to be that :drink:

Probably the nicest words Doug at MRC has ever said to me...

"Car runs, but gearbox ecu or wiring is not right so it cant be driven."

I'll be back......
