AMAR you seem to have got yourself into a bit of a flap...about all things RS6....Dude the car will always need something....slow down enjoy the car cause you don't seem to be doing that just now...I guarentee you 85% of RS6's have a bit of leakage from the intercoolers...and unless you get your torch out...most people don't even know...everyone wants their car to be A1 but no-ones(apart from Shop's is) you'll do your head in if you keep looking to get the thing A1...enjoy the car...It's an Audi and unless the cam belt lets go will run pretty well as is

Someone in another thread told me not even to drive the car with leaky intercoolers as it would cause damage to the turbos! Who to believe?

Anything that I find isn't right with the car will be rectified ASAP using Audi only parts or better. I cannot enjoy driving the car knowing something isn't right. Also, I want everything sorted as it will be going to Swindon Audi for a pre warranty inspection. I don't think I've been that paranoid have I? I just want it performing at its absolute best. The vibrating pedals are the only thing that I wouldn't be able to live with and the intercoolers are important. There isn't anything else I've picked up on.

Dude you have my sympathy's 10 fold...I saw the pictures of your intercoolers...It's not that bad....yes if your pushing the car to max on a track it might end in disaster but normal driving with a bit of welly now and again nothing major will happen. Unfortunatly these forums can cause paranoia in the most chilled of individuals...no-one ever posts about a trouble free experience...your car looks to be a good one...unless lights are coming on on the dash or there's major banging from the box...enjoy the car...they are fantastic motor's...yes fix the intercoolers...but as to not driving the car with what you posted up...It aint going to go bang...they've probably been like that for quite a while...No-one said owning one of these beast was going to be easy :biggrin3:

It is a good one, gearbox is silky smooth and not a single fault on any module after a full Vag Com scan but with 36k miles, you'd hope so eh? I'm really excited about my numberplate!

The problem with the intercoolers is you never actually know how long they have been leaking so that '' driving with the welly in every now and again'' could have been going on for 20k. I personally would get them done asap the same as the cam belt. The other way of looking at it is, i've not really heard of any turbo failures on these cars and the amount that have had leaking intercoolers goes to show that it can't be too bad BUT for 4 hours work and a bit of cash you have piece of mind!!
Not got a nother method of pressure testing them Yet Amar, just need to get some bits together

Not ready to live life on the edge yet! There is no real performance/noise increase so not worth £1.5k to me, I'd love them, but not at that price. I'd rather spend it on Milltek race cats and repair OEM intercoolers.
