THey are taking the piss. 01V409524A was dropped in 2007 to be replaced by 01V409524B. It's a 70€ part. The modified flange shaft which goes with it (01V 409 809A - this must be the new part they are talking about?) is about 180€.

It sounds like they are making you pay for the "free" labour.

Thanks Shop, ive searched the net for that partnr, it is even available for around 120 dollar... :shock:
i couldnt find more then just the price, glad you found some more info.
ive to find a site from the Netherlands with that partnr and price to confront them... :audibash:

Just get a quote from another audi dealer.

ive made some calls to different Audi stealers today, they all count around 180 euros for the 01V 409 809A part and around 30 euros for the 01V409 399A part (which is the seal), so i will call them tomorrow to confront them with this, i think they 'forgot' the labour was under warranty... :audibash:

Dont know what the part 01V409524B is you mentioned Shoppinit. Did i forgot something...?

well, it needs oil to work properly and you dont know how much and how long it is leaking while driving.
Thats why i always want to repair oilleaks asap.
My advice should be to have a call to Audi stealer or a specialist who knows about the uprated parts (some Audi stealers in my area dont even know the part is upgraded...) to prevent it from leaking again... :thumbs:

Yeah, it has been less than 500mi ago because it was OK at the last service. Ill get it over to Unit 20 as soon as I can I think
