I was! I signalled to let him past eventually, was only my second lap (first in the dry). Really need to go back very soon.

What's with the chavlights on the porker? Are they standard?

Also, it looks like a car that on export plates from Stuttgart. Some lucky European owner is going to be buying a Porsche fresh from "testing" at the burger ring. :)

Haha, to be honest, I thought I was doing quite well and leaving him
on the straights especially but my mate that was sitting next to me (who ironically has and still owns from brand new a 997 C4S) said I was holding him up, but I stayed with him after I'd let him past.
I am sure the chav lights are standard issue on the gen 2 997.

Chav lights / daytime running lights are a legal requirement for all new cars now. Even my new works Transit has them although it's just the dipped beam on all the time.

I love drag racing and track racing. I have had many fast cars and below is a short list of the ones most memorable.

MR2 Turbo REV2 (standard) > MR2 Turbo REV1 300HP> MR2 Turbo REV3 450HP (Nick Name Biscuit tin) > Celica GT4 ST205 WRC 300HP > R32 GTR 425HP > Honda Integra DC2 (standard) > EVO GSR 300HP > R32 GTR 450HP

Now on the hunt for an RS6

As a result of European legislation adopted in 2008 dedicated daytime running lights (DRL) have been required on all new types of passenger cars and small delivery vans since February 2011. Trucks and buses will follow from August 2012.

There is no requirement to retro-fit DRLs to existing cars and no Europe-wide requirement for drivers of cars without dedicated daytime running lights to drive with headlights on during the day.

Where fitted dedicated DRLs will come on automatically with the ignition.
http://ec.europa.eu/transport/road_safe ... dex_en.htm

My Transit is the new Euro 5 spec, my work colleague has a transit 1 month older than mine and his is Euro 4 spec and he has not got DRL's. I guess it depends how long ago they were built or designed.
