That may apply in porn...

The US boys have had safer results dowling the manual box rather than bother with the fourth bolt.

HELL no. It's Tiptro or nothing, a manual destroys the point of this car IMO. I've got the dreaded 1725 "TC stuck open" fault but the car is still very drivable but getting worse. It'll flutter a bit if you trying nailing it in a tall gear but that's only happened once or twice at I always drive in tip and match gears. It also happened on the MRC rollers. I'll be calling on Warranty Direct very soon but I want to organise a few things before hand.

Arse :( Bad news.

I know what you mean about denaturing the beast. Don't think I'd bother to be honest, but I would like to have a go in one :)

Funny how you get used to the tiptro then even start prefering it.

Are you using a standard TCU?

that kit is a good find....

i might bring myself to take on the job, if i can aquire the parts over a period of time and do it to a high miler perhaps...

if you go to all the effort of the manual.. they it would be a crime not to put on some huge turbos and get it up to 1000bhp... leave the outside as standard as possible and keep debagded... it would be awesome!

I wish some of the manuals that already exist would show us some more footage so we can experience it a little bit , dyno footage does not cut it :-(

There's quite a good YouTube video about the MTM clubsport manual but its in german. I wonder if he sounds as retarded if you can speak the language.

That one is anyway. Don't know if they made any more. I'd still have it if it came up for sale, I think.

Drifting to this more and more now...

I like the idea of the diesel box with the lower ratios.

Anyone actually had an off the shelf quote from the usual workshops for a conversion?

The S6 box + uprated clutch sounds like the easiest way forward

Must be a few S6 around at breakers

Manual s6 are as rare as rocking horse poo :)

Less fuss all round to get a b7 rs4 and tune it.
