Re: Spare Tyre
I had a flat tyre in France last year and used foam and it mended it, I carried on the holiday and drove home on it aswell.
You can go faster that it recommends (50) but wheel feels unbalenced. It turned out that my wheel was cracked and trye not punchered!!

Re: Spare Tyre
Did you run on the flat at all, or was it one of those where you come back to the car to find the tyre deflated??
Both my incidents were when running (40 MPH and >70 MPH) and in both cases by the time I stopped the tyre was wrecked beyond repair.

Yes, flat on return. That does make at lot of difference of course as tyre was fine at that point, tyre weld can get a split alloy home though!Daveperc wrote:Did you run on the flat at all, or was it one of those where you come back to the car to find the tyre deflated??

How did this happen and how did you diagnose it?Rocketship6 wrote: It turned out that my wheel was cracked and trye not punchered!!
I've got a slow puncture on my front left wheel, but I'm hoping it'll go away when I change the tyres this afternoon.

I didn't know it was a cracked rim untill the tyre was off.Shoppinit wrote:How did this happen and how did you diagnose it?Rocketship6 wrote: It turned out that my wheel was cracked and trye not punchered!!

Get them to check the rim before putting new tyre on, cracks are fairly easy to see and the tyre fitter will know what to look for.
They can do a temporary fix by painting the crack with a sealant, but off coarse you'll have to get it repaired or re-new rim.
