When people say it's awesome, is that the car or the glue talking?

They do look and sound awesome - always fancied a Cerb or a Tuscan myself, and who knows, one day I may yet get one. But only ever as a second car - it'd be mad to have one as a daily driver!

My second post...I had one 2 years old, 4.2V8...most aggro and hassle Ive ever had, the list is endless, looked great, accelerated well, but was poor at over 110 mph, cost more than an RS6 in bills, failed first MOT.

BUT......they look the part....

Thanks people for all the replies. I think the RS6 will be on the drive soon and the TVR will have to wait......maybe even share the drive with the 6 in a year or so?
Did't have my 6 for that long (10 months?) but it was one beast of a car, had the remap etc with 520 BHP and it was a rocket in a straight line. Didn't get round to putting on coil overs, so this time I shall and hopping the 6 will be better on the corners.
Then she'll be the rocket in straight lines and a lot better in the twistys.

I got a 996tt after the rs6 and this WAS one hell of a car, think I could say one (if not the) of the best cars ever driven and owned. If you asking "why then not get another turbo"? It's because all Porsche drivers are tankers and I didn't like the reputation. Bit harsh but that's the experience I got driving around my area (Surrey) even when I saw a fellow driver in a porsche I'd think "tanker" :-/

Ive been tossing up on the Cerbera for years and it never would be my only car, lucky enough to have a works van, smart car (shhhhh) and ML500 for the family days, but I think I'm going to invest in a 6 again!!!!

Ps. Hi Dave, hope you're well. Guess we may catch up in the end for coffee at camberley. ;-)

Hi Adam - coffee it is!

Seriously, if you're in the business of a saloon, take a look at Doug's car in the Classifieds - that's a serious Beast!

How that is still on sale is a mystery. It's the only one to buy right now!

Thanks...dont tar all 911 drivers :( , Ive had 3, and Im a nice chap, also 3 TVRs. A 911 is surely the greatest car of all time IMO. Now need a big car (6) till I can get another 911. At the mo I have an E46 M3, surely that is due for even more slagging off!!!!! :beerchug:

I too Purchased a Cerbera a few years ago, i couldnt resist the sound was out of this world,
But please let me warn you,

It was the worst car i have EVER owned

seriously i was so upsett to find this car didnt handle what so ever, never went around any corners in the wet it was rediculous,

Plus the usual overwhelming smell of Evo stick,
I didnt have a garage at the time and it filled up with water quicker than the office kettle,

then nothing worked

not to mention if you parked it nose down the rain water would fill the petrol tank, and you can imagine what that did,

plus if left outside the water would fill up the top of the V in the engine where just so happens TVR placed the alternator

Dont do it.

lol......sorry, wasn't meant to offend anyone.

You're right, it's that image thing and BMW drivers seem to also have that tag when behind the wheel, although i've always quite liked the 3 series. I've got a white van too, although i don't drive it much these days :D

As an example, hypothetically of course.............

I'm washing the car on the drive and Bob who lives down my road drives by in his brand new Porsche, I like Bob and wave, at the same time mumble under my breath "Tanker"

An hour goes by, Bob had forgot to get milk, so off out he goes again, but this time he takes his brand new Aston....or.....AMG....or.......Ferrari........or.......Lambo......or.......R8....etc
I wave again and think to myself "well done Bob, hat off to ya mate, you've done well"

Hard to explain in text but if I've explained well enough i think you know where I'm coming from.

It could be the area I live and maybe the population of boxter's, Carrera 2, Carrera 4, Gayman's etc.... seeing loads every day makes them more common and less rewarding, you know, when you see that car, the one you love the look of but don't see it that often, you have to follow it with your eyes until it drives out of sight.

When the 996's were launched, in my opinion they flooded the market.

Don't get me wrong, the 996tt was and is the best A-B car I've ever driven and owned but i found the car too much of a label maker, that wasn't what i wanted......maybe it was my imagination, who knows?

If I'm being honest, I WILL get another 996tt again, but not for the time being.

Thats ok, I used to live near you I guess, in Sunningdale, so I remember the constant flow of big money motors. Seems to be a few local boys on here with sixes, dont see any about though. Im over Wokingham way now.....

What does Bob do???? :(

I have a few friends locally, we are into our mid life chrisis cars at the moment, well that actually seems to be going on for ever....
