I just bought a 2004 RS6 (local Canadian car) last summer which was on its second suspension but replaced under warrantee, not the safety recall. Dealer just pegged the system as leaking and urged me to replace under recall. So I did. One week later front driver side strut sprays my inner fender with oil and starts handling like crap. Ughhhh. That was the "new and improved" system that went in... Oh well, they had better just "take care of it"...

DRC shocks replaced by Rob at Camberley Audi 7 months ago and still fine (shouldnt have said that should I lol). I understand that the original audi procedure to repressurise the system was a bit vague/open to misinterpretation so a fair few dealers got it wrong. I believe it has been corrected now so the dealers 'should' be able to use the tool properly. The valves shouldnt need to be replaced.

I think you're right about who does it and how it's done. All mine were done just over a year ago and the previous centre just about managed to mess everything up including the balance valves. They were also corroded, jammed stuck in my case.

The car is brilliant now though
