on the assumption a 30 area is built up with pedestrians, i stand by my personal opinion that 60 is dangerous and irresponsible.

i agree that circumstances make it less so, but in this instance, my default assumption is per above unless the OP can explain further

on a NSL / dual carriage way / motorway its a different kettle of fish, the chances of a kid running into the middle of the road are pretty slim

Why were you shocked at a 150 corner- do you know the road? Do you know what time of the night or day it was? Do you know if the road was busy or empty? Or were you just shocked that an RS6 could go round corners that fast
That was my point. That is why I said nothing at the time. I don't know the circumstances / time / conditions etc. Likewise in this case. But yet this has got a different reponse and I thought I should confess that I have been caught doing 60 in a 30 but I (and the judge) did not see it as wreckless.

Bollox DK.
The risks maybe of a different nature, but are of equal proportion no matter where you speed on a public road.

You're just jealous that you can hardly break the speed limit any more in your '4.... ;)

lol...you wish

of course there is still risk on bigger roads, but a kid walking out into the road is not one of them, that was my point

btw, nothing to be proud off, but i've been done doing 94 in a 50, the 50 being the M1 at 2am, yes its dangerous, but IMO not the same as 60 in a 30

Eddie, I think it is all fine.....

no one is going to fall out over this. How many times have you had a disagreement or a different opininon with your mates?

I dont think anyone here would disagree that doing elleventy billion MPH in a 30 around a school/ built up area is daft.

We don't know what the road was like.

Besides, I am sure Spanner is a big boy and take healthy critisism if warranted.

Don't panic Mr Mainwaring!

Steve, Soryy me old mucker, I think we were both trying to make the same point- all about circumstances.

DK- your opinion is always valid- as everyone elses here, but my own thought is that in this day and age, with the traffic laws and NSL allocation the way it is, it is dangerous to assume anything- we all know that the feckers want us off the road for good.
BTW Kim Collins at QST can supercharge your B7 for you. It states his new "low " price of £22,700....... and increases your power to 500bhp- WOW!!!
It's all Bollox.
