Yes, it runs out Aug 10 and they quoted me for the period Aug 10 - Aug 11 - hell of an uplift

Named Component, 15,000 mile limit in black and white from Audi = £1,732.

mushdaffer - who quoted you £2300? Dealer or Audi Warranty department?

£2,300 sounds like the unlimited mileage option.

£2300 !! LOL !
Fek me thats a lot of notes just to keep the '6 on the road !

You can get a decent car for that much and keep it as backup for when the '6 breaks down... ;)

It was Audi warranty department and I asked for 15,000 limit price. The guy I spoke with was arrogant so I will try them again and ringing dealer today also ! I suspect therefore that I will have another two different prices by end of day !!. I will report back.

thats the price that i was quoted. I think the key reason is a restructuring of the pricing schedule i.e. the RS6 now falls into the'anything over 4 litre category' which includes the R8 as well.

we ended up plumping for the 'aa gold' option brokered by the audi dealer and confirmed as no claim limit (well up to thr value of the car), repairs paid for up front i.e. no claiming refunds etc and confirmed it covers DRC etc.

i was quoted £1750 for one year or £2500 for two although is an additional £30 odd premium to cover cats and turbos so came in at £2620 all in. expensive, yes, worth it ? only time will tell

£2.6k is ok for two years if you get same level of cover as Audi considering theres many other options if you want to insure against mechnical failures

The structure you mention has always been the case, i.e. By engine capacity

A hike to £2.3k seems excessive and so interested to see if a. its true and b. If this will apply to my RS4 when i renew

Thats exactly what Teesside Audi said to me today when they quoted me £2,300. They are therefore confirming what Audi Warranty department told me yesterday - GREEEAATTT !!

sounds like a gambling game & the odds have just changed.
the DRC is more of a known issue now - one off replacement with coilovers for £1500 - £1800 or take your chances with (what should be a well-fitted, long-term solution) 3rd generation DRC.
the real gamble is the gearbox. it can commit hari-kari at any time, virtually without notice. and its £5k minimum.
add to this other known issues of intercoolers, oil pipes & cooler, oil leaks and the lesser issues of turbo's, sensors....etc...
there are plenty of owners on the forum who have spent over £5k in the first year of ownership....
so £2300 is still less than 1/2 price of a gearbox, and total peace of mind.
the beasts are good, but they're never going to be cheap to run.

- just my 2p-worth, and a pro-warranty point of view.

As above, but also consider the more attractive re-sale potential if you have an existing warranty that can be transferred. Most aftermarket warranty companies no longer cover the RS6 so its becoming more difficult for the owner to buy new, reliable cover. If you have the chance to continue your Audi Full Component then i'd say do it, but try to haggle a bit. You may not get a renewal 6 months down the line when you decide that you did actually want it.
WD are only doing renewals from now on, no new customers.
WWise are crap and don't pay up.
Tesco dont cover anything bigger than a chinquechento anymore.
The rest arent worth the money.

Your choice. Its sods law that the box will go just as you turn the warranty down, and if it doesnt then you'll be bricking it untill you change your mind or sell the car out of fear. You know it makes sense.

Just had my alternator replaced under warranty as it died quite suddenly one morning. All in around £800!

Add that to the intercoolers, oil pipes and all the other common woes and your quids in!

Warranty has paid for around £3k worth of work in the last month alone.

Not saying you'll need the work doing but when you do (and you will) it's a massive financial pain taken away.

That considered, the audi cover is worth the money all day long.

There's hardly any of them left that are under audi cover so no potential to extend, therefor an incentive for any buyer.
