Done an initial enquiry with a firm that do road spec carbon bonnets (replication inside and out of original), for a group buy to avoid tooling costs we would be looking at £695+VAT for 5-10 or £595+VAT for 10+..

Won't be doing that then!

I saw a conversion recently: B7 RS4 with RS6 engine. To get around the tight fit, in order to achieve proper induction a Subaru Legacy style vent was fitted to RS4's bonnet and two huge mushroom style filters fitted to the intakes and modifed so that they sat under underneath the vent. I think he had to have a modified carbon air box fitted which wouldnt be cheap. It was a bit Jap style (like you see on liners and supras) but it worked well apparently.

Would look good if they were pressed in like you used to get back in the day. Cool Louvre's was the name of the company back in my Nova days... lol http://www.coollouvres.com/
Found these on another forum, think this is what you mean?!.. Personally I think inward rather than the outward louvre's would look better - think the OE quattro look is the one to go for?!..

Getting back to my original question also, what would if any be the cooling benfit?!..

Much more discrete. I also would have thought they'd press the grooves in. Maybe having them that way helps extract the air from the engine bay, but the venturi effect should work either way.

From what we applied when doing the track 205:

Backward facing grooves over the rear of the bonnet will let out heat from engine, manifold etc. Forward facing grooves at the front will let cold air in over the intake and top of the radiator and will also force heat out from the rear.

205 vents from the top. Forward facing is front passenger side of bonnet. All others are rear facing

Also, inward pressed louvres will let in more rain which is a point to be taken seriously IMO, as will forward facing ones when on the road i suppose.

Or for induction noise, much better cooling, more power, faster spool up (almost immediate at speed) and in making servicing easier, do this....

High flow filters in the pipes. Flows lots of air, it uses modified widened scoops, to std accordion pipes into the carbon pipes which reduces into rubber 90deg bends straight onto the MAF's.

Hi Rob

Love the air system - done by MRC I think you said in an earlier post. As a matter of interest what do you reckon your beast with WI and the full bore Milltek is putting out? And how much roughly was the WI and the air intake mods??
