Class. Got to admit it.

Would be even more convincing if a stick-on style false plate were behind the "flip down" one...

That has to be illegal!! Its only purpose is to prevent the police and authorities from being able recognise your car on camera - ie it's there to pervert the course of justice - which is an offence which can send you to jail!

And lest you think "they'de have to catch me first", remember they can get the type and colour of car, a picture of you, any identifying stickers (like an RS246 one!), bodywork damage etc. Use it more than once on the same stretch of raod and they'll be after you like their lives depended on it.

Not worth the risk IMHO!!

For when you want to nail it, presumably.

for a minute i thought 91r6skiller1 was being serious too, until i re read it. Concrete wheels and a slip road with a flat- classic!
Although thrust sscII had alloy wheels, but there may have been some mitigating circumcisions in that, something the rs6 may not encounter, although i have tried really REALLY hard!
It's all Bollox.
Half of what you read is bull and the other half is all <beep>.

This is the way to do it:

This photo-enforcement picture released by the Arizona Department of Public Safety, taken in July 2009, shows someone wearing a monkey mask and driving a Subaru belonging to Dave VonTesmar on a Phoenix-area freeway. VonTesmar is accused of wearing monkey and giraffe masks on Phoenix-area freeways to get out of more than 90 tickets issued to him through the state's photo-enforcement program. Probably not if you wore a Gorilla suit.

Did you?

On a more serious note, I just had a new A3 loaner from the dealer while having all coolant hoses replaced on the C5 RS6.

The A3 couldn't drag the skin of a rice custard, but I was impressed with the digital speed read out on the dash.

can anyone advise if it is possible and how to get speed displayed on the C5 RS6 display- this would be much much more useful than instantaneous litres/100 km fuel consumption or mpg ( which is always off scale on my RS6!!!)

Best if can take speed off the GPS for the display, but even off the speedo will do.

Any advice would be appreciated. Velcroing a Garmin GPS to the dash is not a real good look. Last resort would be a tomtom or similar on the windscreen, but does seems a bit redundant!

regards,
john.

I have a road angel which has thie function on the screen as well as the useful scamera alerts.

I place it between the instrument binnacle and the driver's door frame, out of the way.

I don't know that there is a hack for the DIS of the dash itself on the C5 - sorry.
